Undeleting user talk page comments

I just wanted to remind you that Sarumio is perfectly within his rights to delete whatever he wants from his talk page. He has no obligation to keep or archive any comments. John Hayestalk 13:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

MOSLOW

Thanks for the compliment, glad to be fobbed off.  :) It wasn't even that hard since I discovered this site. Too bad it doesn't work with all tables. Garion96 (talk) 01:27, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Just saw that you use popups for reverts. Are you interested in having rollback? Garion96 (talk) 01:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Rollback is easier I think, see the link above. It used to be only for admins but now admins can also give it to other users. I gave it to you. It should only be used for vandalism though. Garion96 (talk) 09:02, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

zidane article

I am in two minds regarding the Management career section of the Zidane article, I am not about to revert you, as I really am not sure, but I would like your opinion.

I agree the way it was worded didn't really make sense, the fact that QPR got a new crest, has got nothing to do with Zidane. However when I read a little more about it, QPR had said they were going to make a major announcement and people assumed it was going to be about Zidane, however when it became time for the announcement, they said about their new crest.

So their big new announcement was not Zidane as people expected, but this doesn't mean that the rumours about Zidane have stopped, or does it? I think in a month or so, if they have still said nothing about Zidane, then maybe it should be removed, but until then or until something happens, it should stay.

I hope you don't mind, but I will be stealing your all time football elevens template. Don't think of it as theft, think of it as flattery.

Category:Fishing communities

Hi Dudesleeper. I don't know how this "HotCat" you are using works, but it is annoyingly adding Category:Fishing communities to articles that are entirely inappropriate. Would you mind chilling it as far as this category is concerned! --Geronimo20 (talk) 09:05, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Well the category is intended for traditional fishing communities that have a long history and a culture and rituals that have evolved around the fishing. Maybe I should rename it "Traditional fishing communities"?--Geronimo20 (talk) 09:20, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Dudesleeper - The "Player of the decade" accolades were all announced on Tuesday, May 6th. Special votes were taken on these categories because Hartlepool United is celebrating its centenary this year - Higherwiki (talk) 00:42, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Steve Davis

Hi there, did I read somewhere that the "Romford Slim" name came from Sid Waddell? It appears quite a bit on the Net and Ginger Magician is not one that I recognise readily. Is the latter not Pddy McLoughli, a NI pool player? But I think it's fair enough to limit these two a max. of three, otherwise where does it end? FWIW, RS is better than GM. Keep up the good work, bigpad (talk) 20:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I have created an article about George Wilson who was an England international and a Blackpool player. Are you able to add anything to the article? Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the edits - I was a bit confused about his playing position. My reference book concentrates on the England situation, but for the club history, I have to work this out from www.allfootballers.com, which only gives the shirt number. This was shown as either 8, 9 or 11, and then 5 from 1914 onwards. As for the league appearances, www.allfootballers.com gives 9, 24, 1, 27 & 29 for the five seasons from 1911-12 to 1919-20; hence my figure of 90 in total, plus 6 in the FA Cup. The difference seems to be in his last season, which you have given as 22. Still, I'm happy to defer to your (far) superior knowledge of the history of Blackpool players. Happy editing. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 17:37, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Can you please provide some reliable sources for this article so that it can be proved that it meets WP:FICT. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 23:57, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Interesting. So you do not have RS which means it fails WP:FICT. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 00:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
What are you waffling on about? - Dudesleeper / Talk 00:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
If this article fails WP:FICT, it should be deleted. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 00:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
And you're telling me because...? I didn't create the article, mate. - Dudesleeper / Talk 00:17, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

One more revert and I will asked that the article be locked, and you guys blocked. It is getting old.

Good luck with that. You obviously have an attachment to the photo, probably because – going out on a limb here – you took it? - Dudesleeper / Talk 14:01, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

xxxx in football (soccer)

Sorry about that I should have removed 2007. The reason I removed those categories is that the pages are already in a subcategory like category:Football (soccer) clubs 2007-08 season and so if the pages are listed in the xxxx in football (soccer) categories they are only cluttering them up which is supposed to be prevented by adding subcategories. Stephen Hendry article

Hey - I've posted a new suggestion on the article discussion page, I doubt WalterMitty is going to change his mind but I'm hoping it might sastify your objections. As I understand you've been concerned about a statement matching wikipedia's rules for style? A quote along the lines now suggested is, as Sunray says, not in violation of any style rules, as shown by the fact that a similar quote for Michael Jordan appears on his page and it became a featured article. A quote on the status of the player in the sport is the kind of thing wikipedia always does and should provide to sports figures, and this is the most authoritative source possible for snooker. Does that satisfy your problems? I'm not aware of anything in the manual of style which precludes this, and I'm keen to reach some kind of conclusion, as I imagine we all are. Because there is already a statement about success in the lead, its evidently not that the player's status in the sport is something we don't want in the article, its about what's the most accurate representation of that statement - WalterMitty is presenting his belief that Hendry's status is contentious as accurate, when as I'm trying to demonstrate, it isn't, whether rightly or wrongly. 86.135.88.219 (talk) 09:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Alan Ainscow (politician)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Alan Ainscow (politician), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Terraxos (talk) 03:32, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I didn't create the article. Well, I created the existing article, because it was a copy-and-paste move (before I knew the correct procedure). I don't have any problem with its being deleted. - Dudesleeper / Talk 08:37, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Jose Mourinho

There's your source --> http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=94900 . Mourinho has said numerous times he doesn't want to return to Chelsea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Romi260986 (talkcontribs) 01:33, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

There goes another one from a more 'reliable' source (since some of the links in Mourinho's article are from the SAME SOURCE, you might as well delete those too): http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/may/26/premierleague.chelsea?gusrc=rss&feed=football —Preceding unsigned comment added by Romi260986 (talkcontribs) 01:49, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

BFC

Hi, I keep meaning to mention that I have a copy of the latest BFC book from Gerry Wolstenholme "The Khaki Years" which covrs the years from the 1915-16 season to 1918-19. I know you created (at least if I recall correctly you did) articles for each season. Would it be of use to use the info from the book for those four seasons? I know you've asked me before about helping with the history and I kept forgetting about it, but thought this might at least help? The latest rumour today was that Norwich City are about to bid for both Wes and Kaspars which we could do without, with Grayson now being installed as the bookies favourite for the Leicester job - but can't see it personally even though he has such a connection with the club. (Well I hope not anyway). ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:52, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Karl Oyston

Apologies for a second message so quickly. With KO I am pretty sure that he is no longer on the Football League board. He was on when we were in L1 as one of that leagues reps. With promotion he had to resign or whatever they do. I recall him saying it when asked last December, but don't know where it can be sourced. Maybe in the Blackpool Gazette online or on the BFC site. I will try and find something to confirm he isn't on it anymore, but am sure he isn't on it now.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 23:15, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
