Maps
[edit]Hi — are you looking for a map of New Zealand showing the electorate boundaries, or for separate maps locating each individual electorate? Or separate maps of the contents of each individual electorate? If you're just looking for a map showing all the electorates, I've already got the basic maps, but the others probably wouldn't be too difficult for me to create if necessary. As for council boundaries... that probably wouldn't be too difficult either, although I haven't done any as yet. -- Vardion 10:31, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry for the very long delay — I haven't had access to the files I use for most of my mapmaking, so I haven't been able to take stock of exactly what I can do. With regard to electorate boundaries, I can probably provide maps — general, Maori, and (if you think it would be a good idea) both. I can also do maps with each electorate identified separately, if you're wanting them identified on a whole-country map. If you're wanting a close-up map, however, I'm afraid I don't have the necessary details. Also, I'm afraid I've found it difficult to locate proper boundaries for council regions, so I don't think I would be able to provide any of these either. Let me know what would be useful. (Unless, of course, you've already solved the problem in my long silence...). -- Vardion 05:33, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Greetings!
[edit]Hi Drstuey! I've been meaning to contact you for a while to say thanks for the NZ geography work I keep spotting while I'm working on articles, and decided finally to write after seeing your improvements on the stub I made on your home suburb. Good to see that the articles are being improved on - keep up the good work! :) Grutness talk 13:05, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Hi again - thanks for the kind words. I only meant to do the southern South Island 9where I live)but got hooked. I've only the SW north Island and the far north to do now, then I'll take a break. As to the time of day, I work odd hours anyway (my day runs from about 11 am until 2.30 am), so that's why I'm online in the wee hours. Cheers! Grutness talk
The Humungous Image Tagging Project
[edit]Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)
Article Licensing
[edit]Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Goguryeo
[edit]Hi, thanks for your interest in the Goguryeo article. It would be helpful if you can explain what sort of "cleanup" you think the article needs. To me, it just looks like it needs a lot of expansion -- which is an important concern, but one which may take quite a while to address. The table of Chinese names is certainly ugly, but I'm not sure what can be done about that. What particular flaws do you think need to be dealt with in the short term?
If you could direct your reply to Talk:Goguryeo, that would be excellent.
Thanks again for your interest in keeping this article up to specs. Cheers! -- Visviva 14:51, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)
