Hi Phil, I'm currently working on an exhibition of historic bikes, one of which is Steele's bike now in the care of the WA Museum. His account of the origin of the bike and your recent update of the Steele Bishop wikipedia entry are at odds. I grew up in Claremont and remember Avocet's shop at the west end of St Quentin Av. It would be good to have your reference for John Sampson building the bike.
