I dont delete warnings, or banning templates
so he/she shouldnt, i added sourced information and it got removed so i removed unsourced information and i get in fucking shit, wikipedia is full of assholes--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 06:08, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- I also don't delete comments, warnings and the like. I haven't followed the conflict - indeed, I don't know what it's about. All I know is that users are allowed to remove comments from their talk pages if they want, and that reverting those removing comments is considered bad-faith. Try to stay calm in your disputes. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 06:09, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- but when my bro removed a warning, he got a warning, then removed that ang got banned for 24 hours--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 06:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- What user was this? Technically he should not have been banned simply for removing comments. If he was using abusive edit summaries or the like, then he might have been blocked for being disruptive, or for using personal attacks. Again, I don't know the specifics of this case, so unfortunately I can't comment more. Dreaded Walrus t c 06:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- it doesnt matter now, he is dead, but i know that one character was designed for a certen game and a have a source its a book, but now thay want me to say the page and stuff, is that right, because a lot of the other stuff on the page isnt source, just like the thing i added, i dont even know how to add a source >_< --Blue-EyesGold Dragon 06:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry about that, I've been here for ages and I still don't know how to do anything other than basic refs using the <ref> tag. What you might like to read through some time is WP:CITE. That should give you a basic idea of how to do it. I would like to say that yes, the page number is needed when using books, otherwise you expect the reader to look through an entire book or magazine in order to verify that a statement is true. Do you see? If you need any help, feel free to ask. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 06:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- but i have seen a lot of thing like "ref1 naruto ninja databook 2" and stuff like that, and the "eon ticket" thing in the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire page isnt sourced--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 06:49, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- sorry i ment e-Reader thing--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 06:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- The best thing to do if you see a sentence that needs a reference is to add {{fact}} to the end of that sentence. This will let other people who work on the article know that someone thinks that sentence needs a reference, and they will go and find it. In general, we try to avoid saying things like "this is unreferenced, so I can add my unreferenced material", or "he attacked me, so I shall attack him back", for example. Just try to cooperate on the article with the other user/s, and hopefully you can make a great article together! :) Dreaded Walrus t c 06:57, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- thanks ^_^ you helped a lot, sorry about before :(--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 07:20, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- No probs! We all get stressed at times, and sometimes it's best to just step away from the computer and think about things. As before, though, if you ever need help with stuff, feel free to ask and I'll help as much as I can. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 07:22, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- ok, thanks--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 08:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Rollback
Hello Dreaded Walrus, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Acalamari 18:27, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks very much! An unexpected, but not at all unwelcome, surprise. While it is nice to be able to revert vandalism in one click, I look forward to finally no longer having to seek out an administrator or spend hours myself manually reverting the occasional mass spamming that I come across. Thanks again. Dreaded Walrus t c 19:07, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ha, ha, you're welcome! :) Glad to hear that you'll make good use of it. Acalamari 19:14, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Easier than undoing, isn't it? Thanks, Acroterion (talk) 16:10, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ha, ha, you're welcome! :) Glad to hear that you'll make good use of it. Acalamari 19:14, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oh god yes. I'm being careful to use undo/manual revert if it's an edit that I disagree with but isn't strictly vandalism (here, for example), but otherwise it really does help cut down the time spent reverting these things. I'm glad it was granted to me, as I probably wouldn't have actually applied for it anyway, but it really does help. And no probs for the revert. Dreaded Walrus t c 16:20, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

- and everytime i talk to The Rogue Penguin i end up in tears and feel like im below him--Blue-EyesGold Dragon 07:04, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just like when we spoke earlier this month (see above), I haven't really followed the dispute, I only arrived at this via messages on your talk page. With regards to the edit war thing, it is standard practice to notify people who are coming close to violating 3RR, so that they can choose to stop, and so that they generally will have a chance to avoid being blocked. In this case, you used a misleading edit summary here (which I'm willing to believe was accidental), and then when it was reverted, you reverted back, which a different editor reverted, and then notified you that you were probably in an edit war. 3RR notices won't get you blocked by themselves. They're just a notice to let you know that if you carry on edit warring, you'll probably get blocked. In this case, you didn't revert further, so there's nothing to worry about. :)
- Sometimes disagreeing with other editors can be stressful, or can wear you down, so how about next time you get stressed, having A nice cup of tea and a sit down? :) Dreaded Walrus t c 07:13, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
*MWAH*
I love my Adamie.
Adamie, I see people with cool little icons and colors in their usernames when they sign stuff. How can I do that? --Dreaded St0DaD (talk) 16:08, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- There are a few ways. Firstly, have a read of our signature guidelines, to let you know what is generally classed as acceptable, and what might get you into trouble, e.t.c.
- And then, after you've read through that, you should have everything you need to start customising your own! Alternatively, when you get back from work you can tell me what you want, and I can help you get it all written out. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 17:59, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
