Information icon Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to St. George's School (Rhode Island) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 21:07, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tacyarg,
While I work at St. George's School, I was not trying to be "promotional," I was trying to correct the record. As you can see from our website (https://www.stgeorges.edu/about/mission), our Mission Statement has no quotation marks around it, and there is no such thing as John Diman's "Purposes of the School." Also, Tony Zane, prior to his death last year, asked us to remove his name from mentions such as this.
PLEASE accept my correction of the record.

Hello Suzanne. Please see Wikipedia:Avoid mission statements; mission statements contain little objective information about a topic. Wikipedia has little interest in what an organization wishes to say about itself; we rely on what has been published by reliable third-party sources as the basis for article content.
Writing about your employer is not only an inherent conflict of interest but also demands a higher level of transparency on your part. You are not prohibited from writing about your employer, but you must make a clearly visible declaration of your employment with them. Please review and comply with the provisions of Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:40, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
