Carrie (2013 film)

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Carrie (2013 film), as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, material obtained through personal knowledge, or which constitutes the an analysis or interpretation by the editor that is not found in cited sources. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 11:47, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:45, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have not made any accounts aside from "Draco9904". This is the only Wikipedia account I have, and I have not used my account to deceive or manipulate for any purpose. I will fully admit I have made plenty of good faith edits that turned out to be incorrect, unnecessary or unsourced. And for many of those edits, I would have undone the edit myself if it hasn't already been undone by someone else (i live in an Australian time zone). From what I've seen of Pulsifier220's user contributions, he has made edits that I would not have made. For example - on his 20 August 2018 edit on Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, I would not have moved Michelle Pfeiffer down on the "Starring" list. I have kept Pfeiffer in the top 3 spots because of the Filming announcement image that was released at the time (there was no billing or listing order from a Disney press release at the time). Another edit I would not have made was on 6 August 2018 on Us - I would not have replaced Tim Heidecker with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Also, I've noticed on one of his edits on Dora and the Lost City of Gold - he brings up his dispute with Rusted AutoParts, as well as used inappropriate language, in the edit summary. This is not something I would have done. I have never been involved in any disputes or edit wars with any other users, and I have never used inappropriate language in edit summaries or talk pages, in my history of using this account. I would prefer to be unblocked sooner than later, but I will gladly accept my indefinite block for the time being if it revolves around my recent good faith but unsourced edit on The Grudge. I promise to make greater efforts to source any edits that require verification by other users. But I have not used this account as a sockpuppet. This is my account. No one else's.

Accept reason:

The unblock request has convinced that I was wrong. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:53, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I thought I had enough evidence to make this an obvious block, but the points you raised have convinced me that I was wrong. I'm sorry about the incorrect block. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 04:06, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Use of minor edits

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Knives Out (film), as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. – Wallyfromdilbert (talk) 16:18, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a movie listing page for 2020 that would include the movies "The Father" and "Wolfwalkers"?

[edit]

I see the List_of_American_films_of_2020 page shouldn't include those films, but there are some fairly big films, that were nominated for Oscars, that don't appear in any of the lists that already exist for films in 2020, is there a better place to hold them? Okayjg (talk) 20:46, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is the List of British films of 2020, so they should be included there. I believe "The Father" is already included there (it's under the festival release date at Sundance, but a lot of other films were listed with their festival release dates), so "Wolfwalkers" can be added there. Hope that explains it. -- Draco9904. 6:27, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Crystal ball concerns

[edit]

Hi! Please avoid using phrases like "The film will be released..." like you did here. Stating that something is going to happen in the future goes against WP:CRYSTAL. Instead, consider using phrasing like "The film is scheduled to be released..." as this states that the film has been given a release date in the present, but does not assume that it will be released on the date. Also, please avoid marking edits at minor when you are adding or significantly modifying content, per WP:ME. BOVINEBOY2008 23:54, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to House of Gucci, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Emily

[edit]

Just FYI about Emily, the source only says that it's the opening film of the Platform Prize program, not that it's the opening film of the entire festival (which has already been announced as The Swimmers). Accordingly, we don't even know yet whether Emily will premiere on September 8, because Platform might not start until a bit later in the week -- we're going to have to wait until the full schedule is released on August 23 before we know what exact day Emily will premiere on. Bearcat (talk) 14:44, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify. I saw that the TIFF premiere was added by another user in the Release section of the article. So, I added the TIFF premiere to the infobox and the intro accordingly. Admittedly, I should have further checked the source in the Release section. I only read on social media that Emily would be premiering at TIFF, but not the specifics. Thanks for making your changes though. Draco9904 (talk) 07:48, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. My name is ZX2006XZ. I noticed that on List of 20th Century Studios films and List of Paramount Pictures films (2020–2029), some films in the undated films section are listed with the year 2023. For example, in the undated films section of List of 20th Century Studios films, Boston Strangler, No One Will Save You, and White Men Can't Jump have the year 2023 next to them even though they are not confirmed to be released in that year.

For List of Paramount Pictures films (2020–2029), films in the undated section that have 2023 next to it are Apartment 7A, the Untitled Pet Sematary prequel, and Under the Boardwalk, whose link is now "Under the Boardwalk (2023 film)".

I couldn't find any sources of these films coming in 2023, as it has not been confirmed if any of them are coming next year, so I have decided to move them to the TBA part of the undated films section.

Travis Scott

[edit]

There seems to be a standard way of doing things, but at this point, to have Travis Scott listed the way he is just looks weird in List of American films of 2023 under Circus Maximus. Is there a way to word it so people won't be confused?— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:18, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since every other film is listed in this standard formatting, I don't think there should be much confusion. However, if you'd like, you/I could add an invisible disclaimer that clarifies that he is the star of the film, similar to the disclaimer about A24 being the film's production company, to prevent any unwanted or unverifiable changes.
