[edit]Hello, I'm Lastsoundofdefense. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, D. Ben Rees, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Lastsoundofdefense (talk) 22:10, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for informing. Sorry I was not aware I had to cite. I have corrected this and republished the changes. Please let me know if I need to do something differently. I cited how sections as otherwise it could take a while to cite since it is all from the autobiography written by himself. Dr Ben Rees (talk) 13:41, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at D. Ben Rees. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. - Thank you for making me aware to this. I would just like to note that this wikipedia page was already created years ago, and that I am actually his grandson writing this. Furthermore, it is completely verifiable through the numerous citations and links that I have included in the page. I welcome you to look in-depth into the sources cited and links given if you would like, and then deem if it is vanity or fiction. Personally I would argue against that point, and as I said before I am his grandson. I was just updating the page from someone else who created it as it was looking more like just bones of a story.
- All the best,

- Thanks for contributing. The best course of action, I think, would be for you to set out on the article talk page any errors or major omissions from the article, and if possible point non-involved editors towards any existing reliably published sources that support their inclusion. Of course, we can use self-published sources about living people to correct any significant errors of fact, but the article would need to be written in an encyclopedic style, and not edited by anyone with a (real or potential) conflict of interest. - Okay, that is understandable. It makes sense for someone not related to the person the page is about, to authenticate what is said. I would just note most of what is written is in his Autobiography (as shown in many re-uses of that citation), is such a source deemed robust enough I wonder? A lot of it is also backed by other citations and links that credit him.
- I think what you are mainly saying is the tone needs to change? Am I right in thinking this? If so I can go back through and change it all to a neutral tone. Thank you for helping with this. Dr Ben Rees (talk) 16:27, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
