Matthew Lyle Spencer article

[edit]

Dr.,

On the M. Spencer article talk page, you noted:

Just a short note to let you know that the article on Spencer is from articles written by the author over the past three years for the Panola Story, Le Despencer, and American National Biography. It also became a short book in 1998. In some cases, statements are taken verbatim from the aforementioned articles. Spencer's 1908 wedding is from the author's article "The Spencer-Hill Wedding: a Time of Joy," which appeared in the Spring 1992 issue of Wofford Today.

Royalhistorian 00:59, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Can you clarify that the book is in the public domain or GNU ? I understand the website at Panola is, but I wanted to make sure the book is as well; otherwise major edits may need to take place to ensure the article is not a copyright violation. Guroadrunner 07:57, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The booklet "Matthew Lyle Spencer was published in private publication by North Mississippi Antiquarian and Historical Society in Oxford, Mississippi in 1995. Please feel free to edit it as you see fit. Thank you for you input Carl 72.24.148.150 (talk) 02:27, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind add some references of the Inter-service decorations of the United States military?

Dr. Lindgren. I have redirected the user page and user talk page from the account User:DrLindgren back to this account. This is as close as we can come to deleting the account, and it allows people to follow your comments under the other account back to the one you are currently using. Thanks for your patience. Please note that you should not use that other account any longer, in order to avoid any appearance of impropriety (some users abuse multiple accounts, to sway consensus on controversies or avoid blocks, and you don't want to get grouped in with those folks). Pastordavid (talk) 00:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Pasterdavid.

Thank you very much. As stated above, I am no longer related to the site DrLindgren.

Oriental Rosicrucian Order

[edit]

Hi, I see from WikiProject Occult that you're interested in Rosicrucian articles. I've just run across one in the Dead end section that could do with a little attention and I was wondering if you'd be interested. The article is Oriental Rosicrucian Order. If not, no worries.

Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 22:18, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Unfortunately, I know pretty much absolutely nothing about Rosicrucianism, so I'll not be much help. I'm mostly doing house keeping stuff; links to dab pages, categorising, dead end pages, the occasional orphan page that kind of thing. Ka Faraq Gatri (talk) 08:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Order of Saint Anthony (Ethiopia)

[edit]

Please, can you take a look to Order of Saint Anthony (Ethiopia)? Date of founding in 370 is maybe only legendary and you are one of best scholars in this field. Thank you --Yopie 10:26, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

I am very interested in helping with this entry as I was offered a grand cross in the order in 2001. However, I declined the offer as I had questions relating to its legality.

Dear Sir, sometimes it is better to write this kind of comments, you write to my talk page, to the talk page of the article, because this kind of information is useful for editors to improve the content of the original article. Have a nice day. --MaNeMeBasat (talk) 09:02, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment. I wrote it on your page to cause less issues. However, it seems to be of little importance in the long run. I simply do not believe it is worth pursuing any further. Again, thank you for your time and advice.

Accidental move?

[edit]

Hi Royal, I just wanted to let you know that the way you moved your comment at this AfD discussion [1] has kind of messed the order up a bit. I think maybe it was an accident and you were worried about the notice of listings and just trying to move it below that or something? Those often go in randomly when notice is posted on the relevant pages. Anyway, you might want to take a look and see if it needs to be fixed. Normally I would have fixed it for you, but there seems to be animosity between the nominator and one of the editors, so I don't want to encourage any paranoia. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care. ChildofMidnight (talk) 08:04, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I see my link didn't help very much. Ooops. Sorry about that. I think this link is the one [2]. Anyway, I wasn't worried about it, but I wanted to give you a friendly heads up as I wasn't sure if you knew what you had done or if you were moving it for a reason or what... Let me know if I can be of any help with anything and thanks for contributing at AfD and on Wikipedia. Take care and Happy Holidays. ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:09, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

THank you very much. Merry Christmas. Carl Royalhistorian (talk) 06:13, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merry Christmas Carl. I enjoy reading your insights at AfD. I hope we'll do some editing together in the new year! ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:59, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've been involved in a couple of articles that mention this as a source. Are you aware it is a private venture? [3] [4] [5]. As you don't seem to be around much, if you want to reply could you reply on my talk page please? Thanks. dougweller (talk) 14:59, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this page is about an old extinct society operating until 1923. It was not well known and well documented. It seems that you are running a new societ with a similar or even the same name, which claims to be the same society. There appears to be no linkage between the two and there was no operation for over 50 years between 1923 and the time when the new society started its operation. Until the link is proven it is best that you first open a new wiki page for his society. It will be easier. It is also best that the matters are first resolved here on the talk page of the College of Preceptors. Talk pages are very good places for such matters. The article Académie Belgo-Espagnole d'Histoire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

it clearly exists, but I wasn't able to find significant coverage of the organization in reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
