Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bitcomet.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bitcomet.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Some of your recent edits have been considered unhelpful or unconstructive and have been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 19:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- The edit you refer to isn't unconstructive or unhelpful. The troll tag isn't needed since there aren't any trolls, flames, or flamebait on the talk page. --Dr. WTF 19:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Please do not delete content from articles on Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:4chan. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Please do not delete the troll tag. Talk:4chan page has been vandalized by numerous trolls in the past and the tag is a warning to be on guard against trollery. Thank you.}} Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 20:04, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
If it has been vandalized in the past, you should have said that in your edit summary and not bothered to post on my talk page. If you would have given a specific reason for the revert I would have not reverted it. Assuming vandalism when I even gave a specific reason for the removal (when you didn't) is not assuming good faith and comes off as quite rude. --Dr. WTF 20:11, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

- Please be aware that *I* did not revert your changes to Image:Digg - Technology.png, it was actually User:Cryptic. The order of events is as follows:
- I tagged the image as an orphan
- You reversed that after adding it to an article
- User:Cryptic applied a different speedy deletion tag in regards to failing to have a Fair Use Rational (see WP:FURG)
- You reversed Cryptic's edit
- Cryptic reversed yours
- etc.....
- Just as a quick note, when you want to link to an image without actually showing the image (like if you want to link to it on a talk page) place a : between the square bracket and the image name - It would look someing like this --> [[:Image:Name...--User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 23:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
µTorrent
[edit]If you wish to move µTorrent to Utorrent, you need to use WP:RM. Copy-n-paste moves are not allowed as they violate the GFDL. If you have any questions, please let me know. -- JLaTondre 18:12, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- It is absolutely true as described in paragraph three of Wikipedia:How to fix cut and paste moves. When you copied the text into the new page, the history for that page only shows you adding the text. There is no attribution for the people who wrote the text that you copied. It violates the GFDL as the GFDL requires we provide full attribution to the people who wrote the text originally. -- JLaTondre 00:40, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- You might also want to read the next to last paragraph at Help:Moving a page#Wikipedia-specific_help. -- JLaTondre 00:44, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- I suggest you read the license at Wikipedia:Text of the GNU Free Documentation License; specifically section 4B. The Wikipedia policies were not made up to annoy you. They were created to be compliant with the GFDL. -- JLaTondre 00:54, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Gamemaker Logo.png

Maddox's mention of the Nokia E70
[edit]Hi. Maddox's mention of the Nokia E70 was the most notable thing to happen to that phone, yet the main editors of the Nokia E70 won't have his link included. If you have an opinion on this, please volunteer it on the E70 talk page. Thanks.--Loodog 02:52, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Purify Logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Purify Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:39, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
