Marvin Hamilton

[edit]

I'm not sure on what grounds you have re-marked him as a striker. Who knows, of course, what his best position will turn out to be (folding shirts, possibly), or whether Hess will play him there, but his few appearances at Gillingham were as left back/wing back. But there again, that was Jepson's formation! Good luck. Kevin McE (talk) 10:52, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dover Athletic

[edit]

Many thanks for your comment on my talk page. Firstly, I would strongly advise against attempting to start articles on all the Dover players. The WP:ATHLETE policy requires that a player must have competed in a fully professional league to qualify for an article, obviously this is not the case for many of the current Dover players and any articles created on players who don't meet the requirement would get deleted, so I'd rather you not put in all that effort only for the article to get binned. For those players who have played professionally, stats for their pro clubs are easy to obtain at places like www.soccerbase.com, stats for non-league are much harder to find. Soccerbase has some stats for Conference clubs, but for anything lower down than that unfortunately I know of no easy "one-stop" source for data. There's a subscription site called something like playerhistory.com which I believe has quite a lot of non-league stuff, I believe User:Mattythewhite is a subscriber, so he may be able to help out. Hope this rambling stream of consciousness is of some assistance. I'm going to be down visiting my parents in Kent in late August and was hoping to pop along to the Crabble but I've just seen the fixtures and unfortunately they're away at Hornchurch on the Saturday in question. Ho hum. -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 09:47, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
