I reverted your changes to the article Sexuality and gender identity-based cultures because it was entirely unsourced. There are analyses and studies on this subject, and summaries of that research would be a valuable inclusion to Wikipedia, but without any references, the addition was original research. For more information, see: Wikipedia:Original research, Wikipedia: Common knowledge, Wikipedia:Cite your sources, and Wikipedia:Reliable sources. -Smahoney 00:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
It is not the only unreferenced paragraph. I was just about to place the {{Unreferenced}} marker on the paragraph as per the one which follows on Lesbianism. This is because I agree wholeheartedly with the requirement for references. I was rather hoping that rather than miss out on this subject, the addition of the paragraph left for a time unreference would galvanise the people with a good knowledge of the references to come forth. This, it would seem, is the case with the Lesbian Culture paragraph, which you have not reverted. I am going to re-submit with the UNREFERENCED tag now. I hope you will agree with me that the references will come ... with this paragraph acting as prodding. Douglas Jardine 00:56, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Its been my experience that that is not the way things work. Unreferenced chunks of text generally stay unreferenced until a troll comes along, prodding editors to do quality work. But, I hope things work out better here. -Smahoney 02:16, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. I'm being my own troll here. I'm putting this up and bringing it to the attention of better-read people than I and daring them to get it right. I too hope it works out better, otherwise, I'll have to do the work myself. Thanks for your collaboration. Douglas Jardine 02:27, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
in re: Bisexual pride flag
[edit]All systems people everywhere will revere you for putting the CMYK and RGB values in. what a grand idea! CyntWorkStuff 06:16, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Crikey -- and I thought I was being a ****! But seriously, I'm mostly playing around here trying to get the hang of things by making what I hope are "anodyne" edits. Perhaps only the bi- systems people will lend true, or at least the dual-booting ones. Douglas Jardine 06:20, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
