Deleted honorverse articles
[edit]I will copy and paste them for you at User:Dotz Holiday/deleted honorverse articles.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:31, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've copied the ones I located via template deletions/mergers. I'd suggest you copy the other existing articles, I see a lot of stuff (ship classes, for example) that is unlikely to survive any serious deletion discussion.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:45, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
As I predicted some time ago, all classes were deleted (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hawkwing-class). Do you want their content? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:04, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't value much Honorverse stubby content here, but just in case please paste it to my subpage.--Dotz Holiday (talk) 19:13, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
I have merged a ton of Honorverse articles that were in danger of deletion, although somebody still needs to to so to characters.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:50, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am afraid finally all Honorverse stuff, accept main article, will be deleted from Wikipedia. The right place for it is wiki.--Dotz Holiday (talk) 19:13, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Per User:Piotrus request on TfD I userfied Infobox HonorverseShipClasses as User:Dotz Holiday/Infobox HonorverseShipClasses. Enjoy! - Nabla (talk) 22:06, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I hope you are watching the above page, where I am posting notices on deletions and other similar subjects related to Honorverse on Wikipedia. I suggest you do the same thing I did: watchlist all pages and the {{Honorverse}}, so you will know ASAP when a Honorverse page is prodded of AfDed.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 12:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Characters page saved elesewhere. When it is deleted, I'll paste it into Honorverse wiki. As you can see I rather improve some existing articles then try to mass rescue everything. However....--Dotz Holiday (talk) 20:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Proposed Honorverse Books template
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your work in the honorverse. I created the first template which now exists. But then I got overwhelemed with afds and such for all the articles. I created but never deployed this template which may find a home on the pages. User:Tbmorgan74/honorverse_books. I tried to show both how the books are grouped into catagories and what is the prefered reading order. (Someone killed the reading order list in the honorverse article) This was a while ago anyway. If you like the template you can run with a copy of it if you wish. --Tbmorgan74 (talk) 20:13, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, IMHO that template could be used just as a chronology box at Honorverse article (may be with some time axis). I do not overestimate reading order, there is more then one. BTW have you estimated date of battle of Solon (HH11)? It seems it is beginig point for Storm from the Shadows (SI2). BTW2: I have one comment for your battle template - casus beli position is more proper for whole war description then for single battle; the exeption of course is when war had one battle only (eg. battle of Monica) --Dotz Holiday (talk) 07:45, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I should have been more specific about which template. 1 is the ((hononrverse)) template, the other is the ((fictional battle )) template. Both of which I worked on or created, but only the first one was seriously deployed. Finally the aforementioned book one User:Tbmorgan74/honorverse_books, was only ever plaything test of mine. Speaking of reading order, I have just undertaken to re-read the series in the Baen CD electronic format, but reading each short story in chronological order as stated in our honorverse article. I think that does have merit and, initially, it presents a coherent story from the house of winton and treecat POV. However for even more perfect linear story telling we could specify at which point (page number) in the novels to break off and go to a side story.--Tbmorgan74 (talk) 16:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I am affraid this story is not linear. Of course we can create consolidated table of content/chapters order for the "Honor Harrington Saga", but:
- some events there appeared simultaneously,
- spin-off series are bit diffrent, may be some spin-off summaries or timelines should be only indicated at the main plot (just to know about other distant places),
- some short stories were placed at past times, so they would be rather a kind of prologue for HH Saga,
- and finally some short stories characters were not present at main plot (eg. Grand Tour).--Dotz Holiday (talk) 18:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Silesian Navy
[edit]It's a running theme in the books. I'm too tired at the moment to get you exact passages, but wherever it's mentioned, the SN is portrayed as rag-tag and mostly pirates-turned-enforcers-but-not-really. If you want to look it up, whichever book it is that has the captain of the armed freighter in the SN auxiliary says some stuff to that effect. If you want to remove it, be my guest. I can't be assed to energetically defend it. Octane [improve me?] 24.08.08 2047 (UTC)
- Just asking for Honorverse wiki purposes (commited an article there). I am afraid your contribution concerning CN will be deleted soon (to many warning templates).--Dotz Holiday (talk) 13:38, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Honorverse articles
[edit]That which I feared has now happened. User:EEMIV has successfully pushed the merge of Imperial Andermani Navy and now has
- tagged Technology in the Honorverse and Weapons technology in the Honorverse with PROD’s;
- blanked (that is, turned into redirects) Office of Frontier Security and State Security;
- tagged for deletion (as AfD’s) Treecat, List of treecats and Honorverse concepts and terminology;
- is about to do the same to Elysian Space Navy, Royal Manticoran Navy and probably others. Debresser (talk) 13:42, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Re: Digitalization an online release request - Archival Fonds No. 114, secondary no. 413 (Tymczasowa Rada Stanu - 1917, biuletyn: "Prace Departamentów i Biur Tymczasowej Rady Stanu Królestwa Polskiego")
[edit]Good catch! The Pilsudski Institute relies on volunteers and infrequent grants for digitization, so it may not happen very fast. Unless you know of a willing volunteer in the NYC area... MarekZielinski (talk) 15:03, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Dotz Holiday. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Dotz Holiday~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
