Notability of Poybo Media

[edit]

Hi! Thanks for creating the article Poybo Media. It looks like that company currently does not meet the notability requirements for organisations. I've assessed the sources in the article:

Source assessment table:
Source Independent? Reliable? Significant coverage? Count source toward GNG?
https://canadaventure.news/content-mavericks-15-canadian-startups-making-big-waves-in-the-digital-realm/ No Includes promotional language for most entries Yes No Doesn't mention Poybo Media No

This table may not be a final or consensus view; it may summarize developing consensus, or reflect assessments of a single editor. Created using {{source assess table}}.

It seems that most sources primarily cover the founder, Justin Jin, rather than the company. It may be better to create an article about him. If you'd like, I can WP:DRAFTIFY this article so that you can continue to work on it.

Of course, what I say is not the final consensus of the community. If you think this company is notable under WP:NCORP, the next step would be to discuss it at WP:AFD.

If there's anything I can help you with, or you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask :) Actualcpscm scrutinize, talk 13:50, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback! I'll consider writing an article about him. We'll see what the other editors have to say. Thanks! Dotdashmeredith (talk) 17:55, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Poybo Media moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Poybo Media. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Actualcpscm scrutinize, talk 12:24, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the draftify. I thought it would have been more appropriate for additional input before deleting the mainspace article though. Saw that the subject had multiple features like in International Business Times, Daily Trust, USA Today (though this is contributor content) Dotdashmeredith (talk) 14:53, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, there must have been a misunderstanding then. You can republish the article at any time if you think that the subject is notable, but seeing as there are currently no appropriate sources, I'm not sure how that would be the case. Sources appropriate for establishing notability need to meet all criteria, including independence; see WP:SIRS and the source analysis at Draft talk:Poybo Media. Actualcpscm scrutinize, talk 15:06, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How do I republish the article? I think it would be better for others to discuss the notability of the page before removing it. I recently added more references to the subject, https://www.ibtimes.co.in/strange-media-company-behind-gen-z-social-feeds-that-could-be-worth-millions-862038 https://dailytrust.com/meet-the-billion-view-digital-upstart-and-its-16-year-old-founder/
In my opinion, these 2 references alone meet WP:CORP. Could you help revert the draftify, and then we can continue the discussion in the talk page? Dotdashmeredith (talk) 23:13, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted this article since you've moved it back in to mainspace with black hat fake seo "news" sites, obvious advertorials and paid content, spammy contributor blogs, and depreciated sources (like the International Business Times). I've also deleted Draft:Justin Jin for the same reasons. Given the spamming/sock problems with topic in the past, it's not a good idea for you to recreate this. Sam Kuru (talk) 10:37, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you for the information! Dotdashmeredith (talk) 22:28, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Justin Jin (businessman) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Paid Contrabution, Non Notable subject, Deleted multipule times and the name has been blocked. You can check from here- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?type=&user=&page=Justin+Jin&wpdate=&tagfilter=&wpfilters%5B%5D=review&wpfilters%5B%5D=newusers&wpFormIdentifier=logeventslist

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for bringing this up! Dotdashmeredith (talk) 09:28, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Justin Jin (businessman), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Qalila (talk) 09:42, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I don't know if this constitutes a conflict of interest. I've talked to this person a few times in their Discord server, and that's how I've known them. Wouldn't say we are friends really. But thanks for the information, I'll try to create another source assessment table so we can evaluate. Dotdashmeredith (talk) 09:44, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:50mMidas per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/50mMidas. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 20:09, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi @Fermiboson, noticed your comments on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/50mMidas. I'd like to state that I am in no way in any connection with @Anwi6644.

I've recently begun proper work on the Simple Wikipedia, and I'm really enjoying my time there. A few days ago, I nominated several clearly promotional/non-notable articles for QD on the site.

Following that, I've been experiencing a flurry of targeted attacks, ranging from spam QD/RfD nominations on my creations to fake sockpuppets to make me look like I'm still sock puppeting. I have already spoken with a number of administrators on the Simple Wikipedia, and we have all agreed that I have not sockpuppeted in months, and I do not plan to.

Please refer to https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser Dotdotcomma (talk) 08:39, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd also like to tag @Spicy. Dotdotcomma (talk) 08:40, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, I think @RiggedMint can vouch for my recent work on the site, and is also aware of what's been going on recently. Dotdotcomma (talk) 08:42, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'd also like to state that @Brandom Mc Thompson is currently spamming requests on Admin talk pages. They have been confirmed to be involved in the sock puppet group, but aren't banned on the enwiki. Dotdotcomma (talk) 08:54, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Tagging the admins that Brandom wrote to. @Materialscientist, @Kuru, @VickKiang, @Liz, @DareshMohan. Dotdotcomma (talk) 09:07, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For any admins that got pinged, I took a look at this and this account is  Confirmed to various previous socks at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/50mMidas. I've converted Bbb23's block to a CheckUser block accordingly. firefly ( t · c ) 09:20, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Firefly, thank you, but you aren't reading what I wrote.
Yes. I am admitting to the previous socks from several months ago. I am actively working on the Simple Wikipedia.
But I am not involved with the recent Anwi6644.
I haven't sockpuppeted in months and do not plan to. I hope to maintain my reputation on the Simple Wikipedia. Dotdotcomma (talk) 09:34, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I’m not sure what sort of cross-wiki thing is going on here, nor do I have the authority to do anything about it, nor do I understand what the relation of you to Dotdashmeredith is. You’ll have to keep talking with the admins and CUs, sorry. Fermiboson (talk) 10:35, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Simple English Wikipedia is a separate project with its own policies and its own decisions regarding blocks etc. I wasn't aware of the silliness that was going on on simplewiki and now that I am, I think that it's possible that Anwi6644 is a troll and not an actual paid editor. However, that is quite irrelevant to anything on the English Wikipedia because your account was indefinitely blocked here long before Anwi came along and your relation to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/50mMidas is not in doubt. Any concerns relating to simplewiki need to be dealt with on that wiki. I will not be engaging further here. Spicy (talk) 10:45, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I just wanted to clarify the situation. Dotdotcomma (talk) 07:35, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
