Well, it wasn't so much bad as incomprehensible. You aren't in any trouble, if that's what you;re wondering.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:52, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not to worry. These things often happen with first articles...but there's a way around it. It's called a user subpage:

User:DotHackFan/Dot Hack Infection

This will allow you to create the article online and at your leisure. When it's done, paste the contents back to the original title. WP:YFA can help you get started. I'll paste the original contents back to the subpage and you'll be good to go. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:57, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dot Hack Infection

  • I just work at my leisure since this is a volunteer gig. I don't have a schedule and I simply edit when I have a few minutes. I can't always come up with new content, so I help with maintaining the site. You're welcome to review my notable original content; it's on my user page. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:29, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's been fun for the most part; I've actually walked away out of frustration a few times. I walked off for almost two years at one point. The administrative staff has become much better run and more cohesive (we work together really well) and there are bots in place to prevent the really bad vandalism, so things are easier now than ever even though there are still some chronic vandals who simply won't give up. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:39, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We really don't have PM capabilities, just talk page and e-mails. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:41, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks.  :) This is a really worthwhile and fun pastime and your good, original contributions and cleanups only help the site and those who use it. I actually use it for reference. Nothing really scholarly, but fun. It's remarkably helpful. PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:47, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I'll just holler at you here. Need to log back out, but like I said, have fun. Your attitude is very refreshing and I think you'll have a really nice time contributing. PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:48, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

I noticed you added your name to .hack, this is not really something that an encylopedia article needs. You might like to clean up the page's use of capitals correctly and check it for mistakes. Also it would be interesting to know if the name is derived from the older games of hack and nethack/. Rich Farmbrough, 04:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. And if I understand your question, a link in red means an article which doesn't exist. A blue link represents a link to existing content. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 05:01, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I understand you correctly it is the change in the amount of characters i.e (+350) characters or (-22) characters. If there is no change it is represented as (0) in grey, kiwiteen123 (talk) 05:30, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there DotHackFan. And welcome to Wikipedia. But please remember that Wikipedia's aim is to write an encyclopedia, not create a myspace for it's users. That doesn't means it's not fine to have a chat now and again, but it does mean that you shouldn't only come here to blog. Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself here. - Kingpin13 (talk) 07:26, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image upload

[edit]

Hi! Real easy: Click on the "Upload file" link in the toolbar at left and follw the instructions. Just make sure that the image is suitable for use and that it isn't copyrighted. The link will help you determine the licensing. Gotta run...good luck! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:17, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DotHackFan's Sandbox for Wikipedia

You may have meant to create that in your user space rather than the main article space. I have marked it for deletion. 7  01:34, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dude, you've been busy.  :) As far as some of my pages are concerned, just look at my userpage. That's a relatively incomplete list, but it'll give you an idea of what I've done. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:51, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Develope.com Wiki Page

[edit]

Develope.com

A tag has been placed on Develope.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

[edit]

I don't know what the numbers beside things mean. Can you help? There is stuff that say + (n) or - (n)... don't know what it means. Oh and another thing... can you PM me with some advise... i am new to wikipedia. User_Talk:DotHackFan —Preceding undated comment added 03:53, 6 October 2009 (UTC).[reply]

It means that a number of characters were either added or deducted from the article. Sorry for being late in my reply. --Law Lord (talk) 00:26, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey there DotHackFan, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some images that I found on User talk:DotHackFan. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use images to your user-space drafts or your talk page. See a log of images removed today here, shutoff the bot here and report errors here. Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:02, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
