Thank you.
The article Hoodywood records has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 16:33, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of HOODYWOOD RECORDS
[edit]A tag has been placed on HOODYWOOD RECORDS requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hoodywood Records
[edit]Hello - I have created a userpage for you User:Dorianquest/Hoodywood Records where you can write your article without any danger of it being deleted. It might be worth reading Wikipedia:Your first article first, and since you have a connection to the company, please read WP:COI as well. When you believe you have an article which is acceptable, contact me on User talk:Black Kite (or any other admin) and we will advise you if it OK to move it into the main article space.
I've also put the old version of the article at User:Dorianquest/Hoodywood Records/old version. Note that your version must have sources to establish the company's notability, and must not be an advertisement for the company. Thanks, Black Kite 12:21, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Why Hoodywood was deleted
[edit]I see that you are displeased with the fact that the article about Hoodywood Records was deleted four months ago, and are requesting an explanation. Well, as you may be aware, there is a system of guidelines and policies that editors on Wikipedia follow. One of these is called notability. (If you click that link, you can read the guideline regarding notability) I will give you a quick run-down of the guideline: If a subject is not mentioned in multiple sources (i.e. newspapers) that are independent of the subject (i.e. are not press releases, or are not from the the company's website), then that article is usually deleted from Wikipedia. During the course of the deletion discussion in December, no editor could find sources that met this criteria. I would like you to note that the mere existance of something is not enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. The deletion of an article is not a comment on the subject; it only implies that the article only fails to meet Wikipedia's threshhold for inclusion.
I do understand that Wikipedia's rules can be difficult to grasp at first. And I understand you want your company on Wikipedia. But if you cannot find multiple independant sources that discuss Hoodywood Records, that the editors of Wikipedia will most likely keep the page deleted. If you have questions, feel free to consult the help desk. Angryapathy (talk) 13:32, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- Take a look here, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Hoodywood_Records, this is the discussion that led to the deletion. For a subject to have a article on wikipedia, it must pass several guidelines. The guideline that I did not feel that the article pass was the Notability guidelines, specifically read the "General notability guideline" section. I just did not believe that Hoodywood records has enough notability to be included. Also wikipedia has a no conflict of interest policy. With the message that you left on my talk page, it would appear that you have a definite conflict of interest with this subject. For more info check out the Welcome Page.
