Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While well-sourced, objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. [edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 03:45, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
I am an employee at the International Federation for Interior Architects/Designers. Please do not block me. Is there a way I can prove this to not be blocked in the future? I mean to be honest who else would try to promote or better an International Non-profit's page...? IFIstaff (talk) 17:12, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Your username is inappropriate so you'll have to pick a new one. You'll also want to read WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO; it's not appropriate for you to promote your non-profit here. Yamla (talk) 17:14, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I understand why I have been blocked. I am not trying to promote The International Federation for Interior Architects/Designers. I am only trying to do my job and update our wikipedia page. I will make sure to remove all promotional language. I just need suffiecient time to do so and assistance on what is promotional language(not to sounds silly). I will make sure to follow up with you as well. As for the username, why is it inappropriate if I do belong to the IFI Organisation? I will try and change it, but I do not want to lose all my edits. I am not the best with all of this so please have patience. Assistance would be GREATLY appreciated instead of just saying no and giving me more confusing links. Thank you, Maxx B.
Decline reason:
Wikipedia does not allow shared or group accounts. Only one person may have access to an account, ever. This username suggests the account is a role account used by multiple staff members, whether simultaneously or consecutively. That's not permitted. You can use Special:GlobalRenameRequest to request a change of username; you will not be unblocked until you either suggest an acceptable new username here on this page or have your username changed via that special page. On a note unrelated to the username issue, not just the tone of your changes was blatantly inappropriate; I also seriously doubt they're factually accurate. Spamming Wikipedia is bad enough, but if I find you inserting untruths again, you will be blocked for that, and getting unblocked will be much harder than it is now. {{Huon I am so confused now. Thank you for clarifying the issue with the username, completely understandable. I am actually in the process of changing it now to IFIsecretary.
I am completely lost and a bit insulted with the accusations of trying to "spam Wikipedia" and putting information that are not "factually accurate". I did not know this is how people were treated on here. My intensions were never to put fake information or be inappropriate or spam Wikipedia. I am just trying to do my job and set up a Wikipedia page for a non-profit.
I did not know people try to spam Wikipedia through non-profit pages. I will make sure not to do that.}}
- Are you arguing that the content you put up was entirely factually accurate? Huon (talk) 22:00, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
{{Huon I hope I am doing this right. IDK if you are getting these as messages or just happen to check in on the page. But yes I am saying I am literally putting up information that I have about the non-profit. What specifically do you see as false or spam?}}
- I think the code you're aiming for to notify me is

, but I keep an eye on this page anyway. This is the revision of the article you wrote. We'll ignore for now the vast amounts of content that just described what IFI wants, seeks or attempts and focus on claims of fact. I'll highlight two:- "IFI represents designers, educators and industry stakeholders in the international design community in 110 countries on every continent" - including Antarctica? Just how many IFI members are active there?
- "The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) is the global voice and authority for professional Interior Architects/Designers." - Please provide a reliable third-party source confirming that IFI is an authority. What happens to those who disregard or defy it? Are they shunned? Brought to Interior Design Court? Does IFI prevent people in North Korea from calling themselves interior designers without IFI's approval?
- The first issue admittedly is somewhat trivial. The second issue is the first sentence, the very definition of IFI. And it seems that having it sound important was more important there than precision or, indeed, factual accuracy - it's a professional association, not an "authority". First of all please unblock me because my name is appropriate for IFI. Second, These are all changes that I am willing and was going to make until my page got deleted. It is upsetting that instead of assisting you all seem to just push people away. I have agreed to remove all promotional material and facts that are not true. Please unblock me and let me do my job. I will make sure to check in with you every now and then to make sure everything I post is alright. I feel we have really grown a relationship here Huon. Lets call a truce and give me a chance to prove myself. Thank you.}} — Preceding unsigned comment added by DorianHawkmoon (talk • contribs) 15:07, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

I understand that i can not put promotional material on Wikipedia. It was an honest mistake. I have changed my username to reflect only one person uses this name (Me) and I will try my hardest to not use promotional language for the Internatonal Federation for Interior Architects/Designers. I will make sure to check in with others to look over the page and inform me of any promotional material or wording. Everything will be true and honest as I always intended. Thank you. DorianHawkmoon (talk) 20:14, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
Accept reason:
Since this was a username block and the username has been changed, I have unblocked the account. Huon (talk) 00:51, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
- That said, I think you should clarify how you are associated with User:Ynejdawi and User:MB17 (see WP:SOCK and WP:COWORKER). You may also want to take a look at the disclosure requirements that are part of the Terms of Use; WP:PAID explains what needs to be done to comply with them. Huon (talk) 00:51, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

These are coworkers and former members of IFI. They mean well and we are all trying to do our best to respect wikipedia, IFI, and outside sources. I think this whole thing has been a little blown out of proportion and we can promise that everything from usernames, promotional material, copyright material, references, and factual material will be handled with extreme caution. Just please give us a respectable amount fo time to fix our information before ANOTHER wiki admin/user comes along and blocks us again. You tell us to correct our mistakes and we want to, but no time is allowed when we are constantly be berated with blocks and deleted edits with no proper explanation on how to fix it. Ex: we were never told about "drafts" until yesterday...that stinks. Could have avoided so much of this.
- Either way we promise to follow the rules and appreciate you guys doing your job and protecting the dignity of Wikipedia. May we please move past this and allow us to fix the mess that was made? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DorianHawkmoon (talk • contribs) 14:57, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
