List of Dancing on Ice contestants moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, List of Dancing on Ice contestants, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - @CASSIOPEIA: No need for the article to be moved to draftspace, it’s completed. This article’s references can be found on other the Dancing on Ice series pages. It’s a list of every contestant that’s been on the show. Just like List of Strictly Come Dancing contestants. The contestants age at the time can be found with a quick search, and the scores and averages on the series pages. I spent weeks on this article making sure everything was correct. Move the article back please.Donnamarie12 (talk) 17:17, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Donnamaria, Greetings. Stand alone list do need independent, reliable sources (source from newspaper / books are good source but not the official web site, user generated sites, press releases, sources associate with the subject, interview and etc as they are considred not reliable/not independent and can NOT be used to demonstrate the notability of the subject) to support the content claimed just like any other article - pls see WP:STAND. The editor who input the info need to provide the source - pls see WP:PROVEIT / WP:BURDEN. Pls read WP:Your First Article and referencing on how to provide inline citation (source/reference). Use "horizontal format" if the sources is from web - see Template:Cite Web and lastly pls read Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything. Sources can be in any languages and once you have provide that then submit for review. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 17:27, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Dear Sir, I think you may have ignored my point. All the information on List of Dancing on Ice contestants is also listed on the individual Dancing on Ice series pages. Thanks Donnamarie12 (talk) 18:24, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Donnamaria, I did understand your point prior I had written the message to you above. Even the information is on existing page(s), a stand alone list still needs sources. It would not be hard to find sources since the info could be found in other article(s).Thank you CASSIOPEIA(talk) 18:39, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- There are no sources on List of Strictly Come Dancing contestants either. And that article has been a stand alone list for years. [[[[User::er:Donnamarie12|Donnamarie12]] (talk) 18:43, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Donnmaria, I missed out a point on my previous message - pls note that Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR. We have about 1 million out of 5.2 million articles are in poor quality. Interested editors are working hard either improve an article or nominated for deletion for articles which are not notable no matter how years the article existed in Wikipedia. Pls see Wikipedia:Other stuff exists and it is not a good example to take a poor quality example to make the point for it would not pass the notability guideline. In short only true notable articles will stay in Wikipedia for good. Do note Wikipedia a an Encyclopedia and content need to be verified which is the core Wikipedia policy. If you havent, I do suggest you to read the links I send you on my message above and welcome message to understand Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Thank you. [edit]@Yamla: You can block me all you want. But I will always be back and I will always edit the articles I love to edit, and if I have to create new accounts to do that, then I will. Thing is Hun, I’m not a disruptive editor and all my edits are constructive so I’m not doing anything wrong.
Plus I’m 17. You’re probably like late forties so you’ll be dead long before me and I can FINALLY stay on Wikipedia without you blocking.
