Hi, I just wanted to ask how will I know if I have the license to add a photo in wikipedia from another website. Donna Biju (talk) 08:15, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
Please help me with...How to add an image?Donna Biju (talk) 08:06, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
To add an image to a page, insert the following: [[File:Example.jpg|size|thumb|caption]]
, replacing Example.jpg with the file name, size with the image size (e.g. 50px), and the caption with what caption you want to give it. Do not include thumb(nail) or caption parameters if adding to an infobox. The infobox has additional parameters for image size and caption. Your account must be autoconfirmed in order to upload files. If not, you can use the File Upload Wizard. —MRD2014 (talk • contribs) 14:28, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Suriya in the movie Singam.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Suriya in the movie Singam.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 08:09, 31 October 2016 (UTC) I added the information so will it be deleted? I realy want to keep that picture. Hoping you will respond soon DMacks (talk) :) Donna Biju
Orphaned non-free image File:Suriya in Anjaan movie.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Suriya in Anjaan movie.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:26, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Hey --B-bot thanks for reminding me and right now the photo is being used in an article. So will it be removed? Hoping you will respond soon Donna Biju (talk)
- It's not just that the image was not used, it's that the image is not allowed to be used as you used it. Therefore it was removed from the article. Therefore it is unused (and probably unusable at all). DMacks (talk) 14:34, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
Can you tell me why the image is not allowed to use? Donna Biju
- You do not own the copyright/license to it. The license owner of a film is usually the film studio (or some distributor, etc.). They do not let you use their creative work for free. DMacks (talk) 05:49, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Oh I see. Thank you for letting me know. Donna Biju

[edit]Hello, I'm Feinoha. I noticed that you recently removed some content from S3 (film) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - The edit in question was this one where you removed an infobox from the page without giving an explanation. Feinoha Talk 23:05, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
