Kampyle of Eudoxus
[edit]Thank you for the picture at Kampyle of Eudoxus. I have a request though. The picture details are very hard to see in the article. Could you make the lines thicker and the text bigger? That would be very much appreciated. Thanks, you can reply here. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:01, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Any chance you could tweak the picture a bit. :) Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try to remember to tackle it this weekend. Donald Hosek 18:09, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Dig your work on the ref desk
[edit]Hi Donald, I just thought I'd drop you a line saying I like your contributions (answers and current question) on the humanities desk. They are very interesting, and good humored. I'm rather curious to know how someone gets to be a mathematician and a writer. What level of maths have you done? I'm a maths hons. student and an aspiring writer (of sorts), hence my interest. If you answer here, others can read it, and I'll check in due course (some people reply on the other person's talk page, then no one can follow the thread, but I try to keep things on the same page if it's practical). - I have a masters and a half in mathematics, but program for a living (although I get to do some cool mathematical things occasionally, including the odd proof). Oddly enough my undergrad is in English and the bulk of my published writing is in the graphic design field. How to be a writer? Three steps: Write, revise, repeat. 1001 Books List
[edit]The list itself is copyrighted for sure. See also Feist Publications v. Rural Telephone Service which deals about a non creative list of phone numbers which was indeed not copyrighted. A list of 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die selected by diverse critics does posses creativity. Garion96 (talk) 06:20, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Prague Novel
[edit]Donald, some time ago you expressed interest in trading notes on early 20th century Prague? I was wondering if you might be willing to trade insights on the subject. Talk to you later, Beekone (talk) 13:56, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:IMG00252.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:IMG00252.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 22:47, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
