{{helpme}} Hello again Addhoc, please forgive my long absence. As you can see I am quite new to the use of wikipedia, but I have to say it is very interesting. I have some questions for you regarding the Olde English Bulldogge page and the existing photo, among many other questions. Once I'm sure you've gotten this message I will continue Don Pelon (talk) 04:10, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, my signature worked!
- Hi Don. Placing the helpme template on your talk page alerts only users who monitor the category doing so places you in (Category:Wikipedians looking for help). It's possible that Addhoc will at some point see your message because he placed it on his watchlist, but unless he monitors the category, it is not exactly likely he will get your message any time soon. On the other hand, if you go to Addhoc's talk page, which is at User talk:Addhoc (all user's have a talk page which is their handle, with "user talk:" before it) then he will get the orange bar the next time he logs on which says "you have new messages", just as you will when I save this edit. This is the normal method of contacting a specific user. You can, however, use the helpme template for its intended purpose. Just place it again below (I have nulled the one above) and ask your question. Somebody will stop by to answer, though it may not be addhoc:-) Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:46, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you Fuh. Actually I responded to Addhoc because he was the first to welcome me. But I would like to converse with the editor that monitors the category of Olde English Bulldogge. Would you be able to direct me? Don Pelon (talk) 05:03, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just a bit of terminology: Olde English Bulldogge is an article (rather than a category). Categories are those things one places at the bottom of an article to categorizes it, For example, Olde English Bulldogge is in a number of categories, including dog breeds, bulldog breeds, etc. If you have specific things you want to discuss about the article, its improvement, etc., post to the article's talk page. To explain, just like I have a talk page, and you have a talk page (this page), every article has a talk page, accessible by clicking on the "discussion" tab at the top of the page when you are at the article, or you can type into the search field at right the name of the article, prefixed by "Talk:" (so the link to the talk page is Talk:Olde English Bulldogge). However, you can also use the {{helpme}} template here and simply ask a question if it is more of a general nature, rather than something only someone heavily involved in the article would be able to answer.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:47, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:LTD's Tinkerbelle.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:LTD's Tinkerbelle.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
It can be deleted. It is my photo, but I made it too big and I don't know how to delete it yet. Thank you...you guys are fast!Don Pelon (talk) 04:59, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I figured it out, Thank you ST. Don Pelon (talk) 05:15, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- The above template was posted by a bot (which you can tell because it has "bot" in its name); that is, by an automated computer program that will never respond to you. You are not the first one fooled into thinking you were talking to a human being, but it will never respond to you.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:47, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks again on both points Fuh...I hope all this help doesn't cost me anything...lol. I didn't have any time today, but I will post on the discusion section of the article as soon as possible. I have published references on much of the article. The newer info is info from emails, public msge boards and personal conversations. One of these days we'll get a book or two written about this foolish SAGA! But for now I appreciate all your help and I will utilize your suggestions. We're slowly resolving the controversy the Olde English Bulldogge once and for all. I don't believe he end is far off. Don Pelon (talk) 05:26, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- Glad to be of service. Just note that some of the references you've mentioned don't sound like they pass muster as reliable sources for purposes of verification.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:49, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Notification of automated file description generation

In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
