User talk:Don Durandal
Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Don Durandal! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

PROD was contested; to get it deleted, submit it to an AFD
[edit]If you think Battle of Monastir (1917) should be deleted, submit to an AFD. 67.100.127.55 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:38, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
- There was no tenable basis for contesting the PROD. I went ahead and submitted the Afd anyways, but I can't help but feel like you wasted my time here. Don Durandal (talk) 10:20, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Response
[edit]I got your message on my talk page about editing the talk page for "List of World War I Video Games" and I disagree with what you said. This is a wiki and the point of a wiki is to add on to and edit what other people say. If there was going to be rules as strict as "Don't correct grammatical mistakes" then they might as well call it Strictipedia instead of Wikipedia. All I'm trying to say is that I don't think that it's "bad practice" to express my opinion on the talk page and get rid of some foul language. If you would like to oppose to what I said, leave a comment on my talk page --Joeyjoejoeman (talk) 23:49, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Done. I reposted a link to the relevant wikipedia guideline page and to the village pump where you can post your disagreement about this particular guideline. Don Durandal (talk) 19:32, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Hello and good afternoon (at least it is afternoon where I am). I was looking at the Wikipedian firefighters category and noticed that you are one of the members of the Wikipedia community that lists yourself as being a firefighter. First and foremost let me say thank you for your service. While I myself am not a firefighter, I do work as a photographer with multiple local fire departments. I am honored to have firefighters as some of my closest friends.
I have been taking an active role in the Fire Service WikiProject and am trying to recruit more members to this cause. If this is something you have any interest in, please let me know? You can leave me a message on my talk page. Obviously there is zero obligation. An interest can be anything from helping out with a couple of pages in your local area to helping to overhaul major templates, and anything in between.
Once again, thank you for your service. Hope to hear from you soon. Stay safe! --Zackmann08 (talk) 17:51, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
