Byzantine hypatoi are not Roman consuls

[edit]

Hello Dojarca! I saw that you added a large list of Byzantine hypatoi to the List of Roman Consuls. As explained on the article's talk page, this is wrong: after Justinian II, the Greek title hypatos became merely one among many honorary court titles, and had no longer any connection with the Roman consuls, i.e. the two annually selected magistrates. The same applies to its derivatives, apo hypatos, disypatos, anthypatos. Their origin may have been remembered in some scholarly works, but they had nothing in common, except the name, with the original titles. Regards, Cplakidas (talk) 22:23, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Srbosjek article

[edit]

Please note that the srbosjek article is being considered for deletion again. I thought you might want to take a look. The article itself has some of the sources from last year removed, but I will reinstate these deletions. I would appreciate if you would take a look. Terse (talk) 11:31, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Sancta republica

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sancta republica requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ChaoticReality 13:22, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!--OsamaK 14:15, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I fixed the table so it should be good in future. Note that ALL CAPS CASE IS NOT USED in Wikipedia, and I have my doubts about the vertical headers, they are probably not accessible to screen readers, apart from anything else. Rich Farmbrough, 07:26 29 August 2008 (GMT).
