Formal mediation has been requested
The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Bowling Green, Kentucky rail section is removed from transportation section". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 19 August 2014.
Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

- Yea good luck with that. You really should read the fine print before you do these things. In the future please do not post anything to my talk page. There is an ongoing discussion at Talk:Bowling Green, Kentucky that you should be participating in but are not. Bye bye. John from Idegon (talk) 08:03, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- Has User:John from Idegon agreed to participate? At my mediation request page it still does not have his name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_mediation/Bowling_Green,_Kentucky_rail_section_is_removed_from_transportation_section.Dogru144 (talk) 08:09, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting up Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. It will begin though as purely an improvement drive. If interested, or you think anybody else might be interested, alert them and sign up on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Turkey talk page at the bottom. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:53, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Warning
I have removed your addition of movie channel templates to general-interest channels as inappropriate for each network you listed, along with the "Classic TV network" category, which doesn't meet WP:MOS and hasn't been added by any consensus. Notice that I am pursuing this matter with authorities
Notice that I am pursuing this matter with Wikipedia authorities. It takes valuable time to create articles. You deprived me of my time by deleting without due process. Please note in the discussion page for the category that you deleted for the six point grounds for my contesting the action. Dogru144 (talk) 00:11, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Classic TV channel
A tag has been placed on Category:Classic TV channel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nate • (chatter) 21:54, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Your act is a hostile one
You deleted the article before allowing a discussion to occur. I will pursue this to mediation. Dogru144 (talk) 23:08, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
- My talk page was empty because December 31st just passed and I archive on that date, that simple. And the category was misnamed; that was the only reason for deletion. Feel free to create it under an appropriate title. Nate • (chatter) 23:14, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
You wrote this: "hasn't been added by any consensus."
You took this hostile, aggressive act before any discussion and thus consensus could occur. I WILL pursue this to the highest Wikipedia levels. This is not your Wikipedia to run roughshod over others work. Again, I will pursue your aggression to intermediation by higher Wikipedia authorities.
You should first allow the discussion to happen, then allow the deletion to occur. I saw nothing in your message that indicates your personal authority to delete another person's work without any time of discussion and without any other parties' involvement for discussion. Dogru144 (talk) 23:26, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
- I have retitled the category as "American classic television networks" and re-added it to most of the articles I removed the original title from. I apologize for my haste in removing the category; as I looked in your edit history and saw no previous activity on television-related articles, I was afraid that your account may have been compromised by one of our regular IP vandals in that interest area. I am relieved that it was not and I do ask for your forgiveness. Nate • (chatter) 23:31, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
- Your rationale that you think my account is jeopardized is inappropriate and patronizing; and it is a diversion from the issue at hand.
- Bear in mind that you have nowhere in this discussion addressed any of the six points that I laid out concerning the violations of due process and good faith discussion. The conflict is not resolved. Your inappropriate aggression is still a record of fact.Dogru144 (talk) 00:20, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- Your rationale that you think my account is jeopardized is inappropriate and patronizing; and it is a diversion from the issue at hand.
Mrschimpf, proceedings with Wikipedia authorities will be pursued
This matter is not settled. I am laying out below the six points of violations of due process and good faith discussion earlier cited in the page, Category talk:Classic TV channel. I still am going to appeal to higher administrative authority in Wikipedia.
I have six major objections of procedure:
I) There was no addressing me or no initial warning notice prior to the immediate deletion of the article.
II) There was no discussion of the present article prior to its deletion.
III) The destruction of the article argued that it "hasn't been added by any consensus." This is illogical. Consensus only comes after discussion. I have never heard of any rule dictating that there must be discussion prior to a consensus for creating a category.
IV) The destruction of the article was instantaneous, without any opportunity.
V) The destruction was committed based on a false claim. The destroying editor claimed that the category was empty for seven days. "This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories."
This is false on two counts. a) It was created in the last 24 hours. b) It was filled within about two hours of its creation.
VI) The deleting editor deleted the article by contending that the name ("Category:Classic TV channel") had an inappropriate name. "And the category was misnamed; that was the only reason for deletion. Feel free to create it under an appropriate title." There is nothing in the title that has vulgar language or is offensive to any group. There is nothing in the deleting editor's statement indicating what was category again. Instead of opening a discussion (issue point #1 above), the deleting editor required me to repeat the time spent in creating the category under an appropriate title. This is a Catch-22. The deleting editor is empowered to delete; yet the editor never defined the parameters of acceptable.
I request intercession by higher administrators, for the reasons of the deleting editor's actions above outlined.Dogru144 (talk) 00:20, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- I made a bad call and I own up to it, fully. I restored the category, I'm sorry. Let's move on from this. Harry Belafonte
Hi Dogru144. Just out of curiosity, was Harry Belafonte's father's background ever disputed? I see that you added two sources way back in 2008, where before there was a request for sourcs. However, since then, these have grown to 6, which is a bit odd for a snippet of information that is not controversial, and the talk page has no record of an edit war, which often lead to over-referencing. Did you happen to follow the evolution of the article since those days almost 10 years ago? Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 13:48, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
North Philadelphia
I hope my revert on North Philadelphia station didn't come across as rude, and I sincerely apologize if it did. Because the summer 2017 schedule has across-the-board service changes to account for Penn Station work, I don't think it's a representative accounting of normal service to North Philadelphia. When the next schedule is released after construction, I would not be opposed to using that timetable as a source. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 19:50, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
- It actually is an improper edit. The change does not com into effect until next Monday. This week shows the same schedule I cited: only two trains a day in each direction. The same is shown from the Amtrak site for September, after the construction. Please do research before reversing an edit. Plus, if you are going to do destructive edits, please have the courtesy of making an account.Dogru144 (talk) 04:32, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
- I will address your content concerns on the article talk page (though I might not have the time until later today). As to my identity:
- I think we've interacted before, but if not then let me introduce myself. I've been editing under this same registered account since 2006 (the digits aren't a random IP), and I have the article watchlisted because I did most of the research for it, and I was the primary editor for getting it to GA status. As a side note: I recommend that all citations - especially to those like railroad timetables that tend to get taken off the web in a matter of months - use citation templates for their many advantages over plain URLs. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:22, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
- My apologies on thinking you had a IP address name. I didn't notice at first the connection between Pi and the digits. It is not in good faith that you challenge the facts, then when data is provided you want the supportive data removed. You could at least offer to put up the new schedules. I didn't see any reference in your plan to remove the reference. Documentation as to how few trains actually stop at the station is a relevant fact to the article.Dogru144 (talk) 19:57, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Help with the National Memo article
Hi. I noticed that back in 2013 you made several edits to The National Memo article. I assume that you know this media (and the liberal press) quite well. The article has been undergoing dramatic edits and I ask for your assistance in editing/improving this article.
I while ago I was asked to make several minor edits to the article as paid editor. At that time the article had minimal content and was no more than a stub. I’ve added some information following the structure of such articles as Salon (website), HuffPost, Politico adding infobox, improving categories and adding some well-referenced info. The article started to look like a normal website/media article. After that it got heavily edited in two waves by editors deleting large chunks of well-written (ok, my personal view :)) and well-referenced information. I believe that some of these edits/deletions are extraneous and actually make the article worse/less useful to Wikipedia users. I also believe that The National Memo article has an undisputable notability. There is an interesting discussion about this at the article’s Talk page.
A lot of what is going all around this article is plain nonsense. So if you are interested in the subject / in improving the article, please take a look at January 10th version or January 29th version. Also if you have any suggestions on improving the article, please share. Thank you in advance. -- Bbarmadillo (talk) 21:15, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Non notable web content. The plethora of sources - which are not about The National Memo - does not support notability. Notability is not inherited from its contributors. Fails GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:08, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your edit to the disambiguation page Model. However, please note that disambiguation pages are not articles; rather, they are meant to help readers find a specific article quickly and easily. From the disambiguation dos and don'ts, you should:
- Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
- Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
- Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry
- Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
- Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
- Do not insert external links or references
Thank you. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 10:54, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jason Finn (disambiguation)
A tag has been placed on Jason Finn (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello. Your recent edit to Northland appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. General Ization Talk 22:40, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- I intend to contest this. Your declaration that this is an illegitimate topic is entirely subjective. The train happens to have been the premier namesake train for the Ontario Northland Railway, as per the Official Guide for the Railways, 1945, 'Ontario Northland Railway.' I notice that you have left standing other very dubious items on the same disambiguation page. To wit: "The Northland", those parts of the Kansas City metropolitan area north of the Missouri River
"Northland", a region in northeast Columbus, Ohio, USA This game (pre-existing article), a very dubious inclusion: Northland (computer game), published by Freeverse Software What is your authrotity to delete someone's work with no dialog before the act?Dogru144 (talk) 23:53, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Please do not add Category:Named passenger trains of the United States to articles about current (and former) Amtrak routes. - I was very careful to remove only trains with substantial histories under Amtrak. The Panama Limited was in fact an Amtrak train for ten years, and is properly categorized under 'Former Amtrak routes'. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 04:05, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- For 6/7 of its history the Panama Limited was Illinois Central, that is a strong majority of its period. It is highly problematic to strike it out of the Named Passenger Train category. Deleting it on the count of its Amtrak history is overriding that majority of its tenure as a train.Dogru144 (talk) 02:36, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Edit warring notice
Your recent editing history at Lori Loughlin shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
:You have not properly justified the inclusion of the information. You described it and then improperly described it as pertinent without explaining how it's pertinent, while ignoring my engagement on the talk pages. That is not the way to win an argument--Fradio71 (talk) 00:24, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- The proper place is the Talk Page, for engaging the issue at hand, not for arguing over the edits. I am exempted, that is I am allowed to reverse the reverts. (See the Wikipedia rules for this.)Dogru144 (talk) 01:08, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry to interject here, but just a quick note - You are absolutely not exempt from following the policy concerning edit warring. I checked the policy here and did not see the exemption you are claiming. Mr Ernie (talk) 08:20, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- Ernie, this needs better wording. It here certainly lends the impression of such an exemption: "Exemptions: Policy shortcuts: The following reverts are exempt from the edit-warring policy: Reverting your own actions ("self-reverting")."Dogru144 (talk) 20:07, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

- You're welcome. I'm glad that this struck your interest. Per convention, when there are different trains with the same name, but operated by different companies, the reporting mark, the recognized abbreviation for the operating railroad, in this case 'LV' for the Lehigh Valley Railroad is used after the name, to differentiate between this train and two other trains serving Toronto and different end points (New York via the Hudson River in one case and Chicago in another case).Dogru144 (talk) 04:38, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

B&M schedules
Hello! Since you seem to have quite the collection of timetables, I was wondering if you could help me out with a couple questions. I'm trying to figure out exactly when service ended at three B&M stations around Boston:
- East Everett still had minimal service in 1946, but was closed prior to the big 1958 cuts.
- Somerville Junction was was approved to close in 1939 and doesn't appear on the 1946 timetable, but newspaper snippets from 1945 and 1947 indicate it may have still been a stop. It was definitely closed prior to the 1958 cuts.
- Winter Hill had its station building closed in 1926 and demolished in 1934; it was probably closed as a stop sometime between then.
Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:57, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Pi.1415926535, These are tough ones. The B&M omitted several suburban stations from listings in reports to the Official Guide to the Railways. And I noticed in the index of the table that you linked that tickets were not being sold at them. There is the possibility that the stations were open only in an unstaffed fashion in the manner that several older stations are functioning in today's regional railroads.
- East Everett had only one weekday & Saturday morning rush trip inbound from Newburyport in 1937, and one outbound evening rush trip to Lynn in 1937. (Sep. 26, 1937, Table 19) It already had lost its service by the April 28, 1940 timetable. Trains passed through on the Portsmouth branch without stopping.
- That's a great resource you linked, the April 28, 1946 timetable. Check again, Table 32, on it. The trains bypassed the station on this schedule, as they did in 1940. It was Everett and Chelsea that had service. So, the sentence at the Chelsea station (MBTA), "By 1946, the station was served ...." is erroneous. There are multiple train stops for Chelsea, including on the Sunday schedule, the page after the weekday schedules.
- The December 1957 Official Guide, B&M section, Table 6, shows one flag stop and five full stops on weekdays northbound, and eight full stops and one flag stop southbound for Chelsea. Everett is not listed; however, at the Index of Railroad Stations it indicates that the full timetable gives service for Everett; since Everett did not have the dagger mark for freight service, it too had service. The August 1958 Official Guide shows Everett and Chelsea as freight only stations. So, the massive service cuts in 1958 took down the Chelsea and Everett passenger service stops.
- The 1956 timetable has this note of interest for many of the lesser suburban stations, Everett and Chelsea included (Table 13), with a diamond symbol: "No checked baggage handled or tickets sold at stations referenced. Checked baggage will not be handled on trains referenced at the top of column beside train number." Thus, these were unstaffed stations --no ticket agents or baggage handlers.
- Somerville Junction -- still had local trains in April 28, 1940, stopping there on the route towards Concord, NH; albeit, the furthest outbound extent was Walnut Hill, a stop not far after Winchester. The furthest point of origin in 1940 for Boston-bound trips was Lowell. (Table 37 of the timetable)
- Winter Hill -- It appeared in the 1932 Official Guide's Index of Railway Stations. But it did not appear in the September 26, 1937 timetable.Dogru144 (talk) 19:03, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's all very helpful! I've included the East Everett history on the Chelsea station article (currently SL, soon CR) since they weren't far apart; the Chelsea station history is on Bellingham Square station (current SL and CR). Chelsea and Everett definitely lasted till 1958 as you noted, but East Everett was axed sometime earlier. On the 1946 timetable, I see East Everett being served by #245 (4:05 pm out of North Station) and #208 (5:18 am out of Newburyport) - am I misreading it? Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:58, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- Pi.1415926535, You're welcome. Right you are on the two trains. I overlooked that section of the Table. And I noticed that those two trains are on the 1940 Table also.Dogru144 (talk) 01:40, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Railway services discontinued in 1894 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
Liz Read!
