Notes to myself

[edit]
  • Update Craig section with new citations from that draft. Look at Braun (1982) on Craig.
  • Address all notes in bold in the footnotes.
  • Purge sources list of unused sources (after purge of footnotes).
  • Fix all ISBNs to 13-digit format (need to check Amazon).
  • Editing choices to note:
  • MLA author-date system
  • Old style/new style date templates: both for accurate comparison with primary and secondary sources AND for article stability
  • Consistent use of serial comma
  • Rationale for a separate "biography" article
  • Many citations for each claim to compensate for reliance on the two biographies in English
  • Use of "in order to" to make relationships clear
  • In addition to an account of his life and work, article aims to set locate Stanislavski's theoretical ideas and practical techniques firmly within an historical narrative--a recurrent problem in commentary on his work has been a tendency to conflate ideas and work from different periods
  • Long article (give readable prose size as word count), but important to provide an overview of life in one place, in preference to several articles detailing work in different stages
  • Changed all commas near quotation marks to the "UK" logical punctuation, as it appears to be mandated by MoS, although I don't like it one bit. I have checked all quotations to ensure that the original punctuation is reproduced where appropriate (full-stops inside when in the source, outside when not).
