Home > Movies > J > Jazz Casual: Dave Brubeck > Summary Genres: Music Rating: In 1961, when the Dave Brubeck Quartet appeared on Jazz Casual, music critic Ralph J. Gleason's series for National Educational Television, Brubeck and his band comprised one of the most popular jazz combos in the world. Captured in black-and-white, this episode of Jazz Casual features the quartet performing six songs, including Desmond's 1961 classic hit song "Take Five." This lineup of the quartet had Brubeck on piano, Paul Desmond on alto sax, "Senator" Eugene Wright on bass, and Joe Morello on drums. Gleason and Brubeck felt it was the best Brubeck Quartet lineup to date. Steve Blackburn, All Movie Guide
