Confused ...
[edit]Xeno (or whoever else can answer this question): Why is this template in the "User:" name space? Is there a specific reason for this? Steel1943 (talk) 21:25, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, Steel – this page is in the user space because the bots, when they zip by and check the latest date in a talk-page section, expect to see the date as part of a user sig, so they key in on the sig, check the associated date and behave accordingly. One can achieve a "never-archive" section status simply by including no dates at all in the talk-page section. Check out the first section at Talk:God. - Ironically, Steel and Paine Ellsworth, the section referred to can now be found in the archive (archive 1). Cheers CapnZapp (talk) 08:34, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure which section since it's been awhile. Could be that someone added a timestamp, which would then be picked up by the archivebot and the section would then be archived? Painius put'r there 08:43, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- The very first section. Likely someone has archived it manually. CapnZapp (talk) 18:01, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Max days
[edit]Greetings and salutations, Xeno or Paine. What is the maximum number of delay days the template may be set at? Having fun! Cheers! {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk}

- To editor Checkingfax: there is no max that I know of. The default value for the template (if no number of days is given in the first parameter) is 3650 days (10 years). As far as I know, as long as the comment is in a thread, it won't be subject to be archived until whatever date is entered. Paine Ellsworth put'r there 01:39, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
