Thank you

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for two things: First, thanks for your tireless efforts to update the area seventies page. I'm glad to finally have that updated. It's been outdated for a while now. I also would be remiss if I didn't thank you for catching my erroneous removal of the Rexburg Idaho Temple from the Area page. I had just changed the Rexburg North Idaho Temple template to the Teton River Idaho Temple when I saw Rexburg and somehow thought it was a duplicate. Thanks for catching that. I have taken the liberty of also creating a page in my sandbox that will serve as the sample template for me to quickly add the new temples announced this weekend, as I indicated I would take care of that. In the next couple of days before conference, if you wanted to look that over and do anything on your end to help me ensure it's ready to quickly add the new temples this weekend, it would be appreciated. Keep up the great work! Thanks again. Jgstokes (talk) 04:25, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Not a problem. It's easy to make mistakes - the advantage of having multiple eyes checking it. Today I added number of baptistries to the templates. I have a feeling its going to become more of a commonplace for future large temples/large temple renovations. Youth enthusiasm for temple work has been great and baptistries has reached capacity in some temples where other ordinances have not. Right now I only know of two that are getting more than one baptistry, but I would imagine this number is only going to grow as large temples get announced/renovated. Thanks! - Dmm1169 (talk) 04:36, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Duplicate parm errors

Several templates you've edited today are getting duplicate parm errors for "open_house", "dedication" and "dedication_by". For example, this edit. The errors propogate to other templates, as visible on Category:Pages using duplicate arguments in template calls and to articles, visible on Category:Articles using duplicate arguments in template calls. I wasn't aware having the name of one parameter with the name of another constitutes a duplicate. The initial simply had the name "open_house", "dedication" and "dedication_by" where as rededication has the word "dedication" in it making the duplicates.
There's more than 300 templates that uses these parameters. There's 300+ templates that use these parameters (or planned to be used in coming months). Some of these have been in use for nearly a year. Any suggestions? Dmm1169 (talk) 13:47, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
The ones that have been added in the past year the following list. Some of these temple templates have been using these fields for nearly a year without issue (ie. Mesa Arizona Temple), and were created for use in Comparison of temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as infoboxes for each temple page. The fields "rededication" and "rededication_by" has been used for several years without issue. "Rededication3" is intended for future use as there has not been a third rededication for any temple, but easier to add that field while adding the other rededication fields.

(talk page stalker) The message above may not have been clear. The problem with your edit was that you added |dedication= when |dedication= was already present. You can't have the exact same parameter used twice in one template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:21, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
ok. I'll go though and look for these duplicates. Thanks! Dmm1169 (talk) 16:25, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
