Please do not add or change content, as you did at Daniel Holtzclaw, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 23:38, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
Melcous, May I add information that the private investigator for the defense team has posted on his website? May I add quotes from his family? May I add a link to a letter Daniel wrote? Daniel Holtzclaw Thank you for the information. Dlruthenberg (talk) 13:16, 23 August 2016 (UTC)dlruthenberg
- Those would all most likely be primary sources and using them constitute original research, which wikipedia does not allow - the aim is for reliable, third-party, secondary sources - see WP:RS for more detail. Melcous (talk) 13:53, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
But isn't holtzclawtrial.com Brian Bates a third-party secondary source? Melcous, I will do more research, but somehow this Daniel Holtzclaw needs to show the opposite side. We are appealing and fighting for his justice. For example, he was convicted on lies about the skin DNA. I apologize if I am bothering you. I will read more before I try again. Thanks Dlruthenberg (talk) 14:05, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Sounds like you are trying to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS which is contrary to what this encyclopedia is about. Holtzclaw is a convicted rapist and the majority of reliable sources (WP:RS) focus on his attacks and conviction. Adding commentary about a wrongful conviction will be removed as WP:FRINGE.LM2000 (talk) 22:18, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- Sounds like you all at wikipedia have an agenda. I am trying to provide legitimate, third-party sourced, secondary sources. When we prove he is innocent, will this page be removed or at least changed to the correct information? 74.192.25.190 (talk) 22:34, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- OKC Artists is sourced to NBC News.LM2000 (talk) 21:50, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

- Dawnseeker, thanks I will not do that again. I hope to update some of the information regarding the secret hearings that have been going on regarding the appeal with citations for all.--Dlruthenberg (talk) 16:31, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- Dawnseeker, is there a rule against using the OSCN.net case links. I want to reference the appellate case.Dlruthenberg (talk) 17:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I don't have much experience in this area of WP, but a quick look at the number of links to that domain from WP articles shows only one instance, and it's not from a particular case. I would say that that probably means something, but I can't say what might WP policy might apply. To get a more thorough answer you might ask on the talk page of WikiProject Law Enforcement or WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography. Or you could just give it a go and see what happens ☺. - I noticed that you put in that Daniel is located in California Department of Corrections and you have to keep changing it back. I just edited it also to be unknown. Do you know something that I don't? I don't want to have to keep making you change it back and forth. Line 5, I believe. --Dlruthenberg (talk) 18:06, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- I looked at that again today too. I had reverted someone about that because I thought that that contradicted what the source said, hence my edit summary "undo corruption", but after looking at it again today I see that it's fine the way it is. Dawnseeker2000 18:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks Dawnseeker. I will try to make my own page to let you know who I am. But I am very close with the Holtzclaw case. I want to update some information about the Appeal and the DNA evidence and the secret hearings that are going on. Hopefully there should be a resolution to that.--Dlruthenberg (talk) 18:58, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

[edit]It's really not up to me as to what goes in the article, I don't WP:OWN it. Any material added needs to be policy compliant. We do have comments by some commentators in the "Media coverage" section, including some perspective on what was going on with BLM at the time. LM2000 (talk) 21:55, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
