Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ben & Jerry's, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:20, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Lionel garner

[edit]

Hello, Dkokakis,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Lionel garner should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lionel garner .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Good evening, Why is the page being questioned for deletion? The page is being made for Lionel Garner with permission from him and his family. The page is being made by David Kokakis (who conducted the interview and authored the biography) and myself (his executive assistant). The photos I tried to post are photos taken by me of Lionel's original pieces that David owns. Please advise.

Thank you. User:Dkokakis (talk)

Answer: see WP:NOTMEMORIAL, where it says "Subjects of encyclopedia articles must satisfy Wikipedia's notability requirements. Wikipedia is not the place to memorialize deceased friends, relatives, acquaintances, or others who do not meet such requirements." 198.58.171.47 (talk) 07:13, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Garner is not deceased. This is a place for other collectors to come and gather info about him based on information conducted from an interview first hand with Garner. Garner is not a friend, colleague, or acquaintance. He is a painter who David's family began collecting work from. After years of not being able to find information about him online, David was able to track him down in Paris to interview him and gather information on his story. After conducting the interview, David has been in touch with Garner and his family and is creating websites and potentially a documentary (using footage from the interview on Garner). Having a presence on Wikipedia is very important to both Garner and David, so please let me know what the next steps are to have the page active, I'm not understanding why this is an issue.
