The axe of responsibility
Shiny new tools might be used to mete out justice, mercy or a dose of reality. Let us commit to not losing our cool when using them. Our only armor is the entire community's trust. We wear it for each other, each new contributor, and each new generation to come. May you ever be the community's champion.

Thank you, @BusterD! I will try to keep peace and my hand. Cheers, charlotte 👸♥ 21:08, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't your hand I was concerned about. You and I are fairly resilient. Injuries to others may be irreversible, however. But you got yourself into this fine mess. You're a fine wikipedian; you know how to act. Don't be shy about editing BOLDly. If you need help ask someone. Congrats, and get to work. BusterD (talk) 01:20, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FYI it isn't normally necessary to up protection on templates because they're about to be used on the Main Page - today's and tomorrow's main page are cascading protected so anything that's going to be on the Main Page within 24 hours is already protected. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:38, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Pppery; I was aware the main page was cascade protected, but didn't know tomorrow's also was and wanted to prevent someone vandalizing right before cascade kicked in. Thanks, charlotte 👸♥📱 17:56, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Filter 1325

[edit]

You should probably use equals_to_any(page_namespace, 0, 118) as page_namespace == 0 | 118 does not work, and I would recommend, on line 2, to use added_lines instead of new_wikitext. Thanks, Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 00:25, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Codename Noreste! Thank you; I already figured out (but didn't yet save) the latter. First time trying to make a filter. charlotte 👸♥ 00:27, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And BTW, if you add !("confirmed" in user_groups) on the first or second line of the filter, it will only target non-autoconfirmed users. Right now, it targets ALL users regardless of their user group status. Thank you. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 00:47, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done for non-extendedconfirmed/sysop/bot, I've seen some come from confirmed users but none from XCONs. charlotte 👸♥ 00:53, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to writing comments in the filters, there is one useful script, which is User:Suffusion of Yellow/filterNotes. You can read the documentation, and you can add any comment you wish, but without your name/signature as the script will automatically add it for you when you click Add note. Codename Noreste 🤔 Talk 02:32, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks! charlotte 👸♥ 02:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
