[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Can you please stop adding those details to BLPs. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 01:54, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hey Drmies!, not sure what is disruptive/unconstructive here ... NB: the only edit was to ADD 1 reference to a publicly issued & available document, which he signed alongside many artists.
- This is it here, if you want to check :) https://www.npr.org/2023/10/21/1207783685/celebrities-letter-ceasefire-israel-gaza-biden
- Thanks! Discourseofcourse (talk) 02:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- We're an encyclopedia, not Facebook or a news site. I don't doubt that it's accurate, but I doubt its relevance. You can propose these edits at WP:BLPN, for instance. Drmies (talk) 02:15, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia. I asked you to stop: you do not have consensus for such BLP edits. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 02:16, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi Discourseofcourse! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Susan Sarandon that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. You seem to be adding basically the same material to a number of pages, from an article that does not give significant coverage to the individuals whose pages you are adding it to. This is not WP:DUE material; Wikipedia should not be a complete catalog of every document people have signed. Nat Gertler (talk) 05:09, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

- Just a reminder that as you are not extended-confirmed, you need to restrict yourself to making edit-requests in the Arab-Israeli conflict topic. This means you cannot directly make edits that relate to the topic in articles and you cannot open threads on BLPN. You should not be engaging in extended discussion on the merits of your edits or proposals relating to the topic area, although it would be fine to seek clarification about whether any of your edits are a problem. Having had a quick look at your edit history and putting aside the merits of your edits, IMO pretty much all of your edits so far, are stuff you should not have be doing because they violate the WP:ARBECR requirement of the Arab-Israeli confict topic area. So in the event you are unblocked, please remember to stay away from the topic except making edit requests. I suspect any admin dealing with your unblock request will want to hear what areas you plan to edit if you are unblocked. Nil Einne (talk) 01:21, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics.
