About the Toopy and Binoo IP
[edit]Pretty cool to give the IP advice, but this kid spammed the Toopy and Binoo sub a lot, and I tried giving him advice about posting, it was pretty frustrating. The worst was teaching him how to copy and paste, and he didn't get it, and lied about copy and pasting (I could tell because the link was wrong). He also tried hiding posts, he added many videos of some stuffed animals or something, with the title "dont let mightywinz or momothereal see it", who are the mods. He posted "fanmade" misinformation and things like that on the subreddit, it's basically impossible to tell him to stop. The point is, it's basically impossible to give him advice, he doesn't listen. I'd say, just leave him alone. Anyways, thanks for being cool, have a good day, bye. MightyWinz (talk) 02:40, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- I see. My apologies once again! With all the stuff he's done to Reddit and Wikipedia, I hope he can become a contributor (likely a slight chance) but I assume that he'll disappoint us again. Dinoz1 (chat?) 12:17, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
The file File:Canvas (1).png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused personal file. Out of scope.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:25, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Totally forgot about that file! I used it a few years ago, thanks for putting it up for deletion. I personally agree we should remove it. Dinoz1 (chat?) 12:57, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
Permissions granted
[edit]Pending changes reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Rollback granted
[edit]Hi Dinoz1. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talk) 10:29, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Rollback
[edit]Hi there. Congratulations on getting Rollback! I can't wait to see you revert some vandalism with it. I know you'll do a great job! Zoe Trent Fan🎤💍 13:53, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Zoe Trent Fan Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words, I'm so excited too! It's kind of a big change for me but I'm starting to get the hang of it! Dinoz1 (chat?) 14:07, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Alchetron
[edit]Hi Dinoz1! I just wanted to give you a heads-up: I reverted your edits to Controlled Developments, where you added Alchetron.com as a reference, because Alchetron is a "Wikipedia mirror", which has copied the Wikipedia article. This is allowed, as long as the copying site acknowledges that they use Wikipedia's content; some mirror sites ignore this requirement, but Alchetron has a note at the bottom of each mirrored article, with an acknowledgment and a link back to Wikipedia. In general, if you find a website that contains the exact same sentences as a Wikipedia article, you're looking at a mirror site – there are many, many such websites, and whether they have an acknowledgment or not, they can't be used as sources here. More info [[here. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 18:21, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Bonadea Hi Bonadea! My most sincere apologies for that edit. I had no idea that was a mirror site, it didn't really give itself away! Anyway, thanks for reverting that edit, really appreciate it! Dinoz1 (chat?) 18:24, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hey, nothing to apologise for – it's a very easy error to make, and one that many people have made before you! :-) Now you are aware of it, which is the important thing. Keep up the good work! --bonadea contributions talk 19:41, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
ANI intervention
[edit]Hello! Why are you invested in our discussion? You do not understand the challenge of Anti-Berber propaganda in North Africa. Your profile also says you 'lurk' in that page, accusing people and calling for their ban as a hobby is definitely not a hobby that will improve Wikipedia. Phil Bridger seems to be interested in finding a solution, please refrain from making remarks purely for the purpose of banning a user for fun, I am genuinely interested in improving the Wiki's Berber linguistics section. Taluzet (talk) 17:50, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- Taluzet And you do not understand what Wikipedia is. I don't remember "accusing and calling for people's bans" being on my userpage. YOU need to refrain from your disruptive editing. Part of finding a solution is blocking the person that is clearly in the wrong. I don't think requesting a block is "banning a user for fun". See WP:THIRDOPINION and please keep these silly and ridiculous messages at ANI. Dinoz1 (chat?) (he/him) 18:02, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Removal of information
[edit]Ok i’ll discuss, i want this removing from MY Wikipedia page as its not in the public interest and upsetting my family members, is that a good enough reason Kitsjade9 (talk) 15:41, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Update to my Wikipedia page
[edit]Sorry for my clumsy editing attempt. I am having network difficulties today. I attempted to update my page to delete reference to an obsolete position I once held at the firm of Buchanan and Edwards and to show my current position at the Organization of American States. The entry should read "He was the COO (Secretary for Administration and Finance) of the Organization of American States from 2015-17 and 2020-2023." The citation is OAS.org/en/saf Thank you. "Positive discrimination"
[edit]Hi! This was my (rapidly-deleted) contribution to the article entitled "Affirmative action". I noted that to call affirmative action by the title "positive discrimination" was not entirely appropriate. Here's why:
Affirmative action was part of the UK Government's anti-discrimination programme in the 1960s and 1970s. It created a criminal offence of "unlawful discrimination". Actions taken to help ethnic minorities to overcome this were allowed, and were usually called affirmative action. However, some people who opposed the anti-racism agenda on principle began to use the term "positive discrimination". So far as I remember, that term was not used in the wording of the law, nor by the Commission for Racial Equality nor its local representatives. It seems as illogical as passing a law against rape, and naming the medical help given to victims as "Positive Rape". I can't quote chapter and verse for that addition of mine, it was just a conclusion derived from pure logic and the fact that I worked in the field from 1970 to 1986.
You say I deviated from the Wikipedia goal of objectivity. How? I was not arguing in favour of nor against positive action, merely saying that one alternative name misrepresented it. 2A01:CB08:87CC:BA00:7581:3F5B:A800:811E (talk) 20:36, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

My addition to a Wikipedia page
[edit]I added information to the page about Melanie Pappenheim, I don't understand how to enter a citation but I can assure you the information is correct because I am in the show that I entered details about with her. First Nations university of Canada page
[edit]Hello - sorry I guess I violated some rules? I was attempting to update the First Nations University of Canada page with more recent information (there is a fourth traditional campus, elders are apart of campus life, these are facts). Perhaps I linked it too many times to the university's website? I thought that would be good practice? And yes I do think it's unfair/not neutral that an Indigenous institution's Wikipedia page is majority focused on controversies from 2009 and 2010. Perhaps it should remain as a footnote, but surely not the majority of the page?
Please consider allowing some of the edits.
Thank you. 142.3.161.254 (talk) 18:34, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for your message.
- Your edits were reverted because in addition to the fourth campus, there was lots of valuable information deleted.
