Language tone in articles

[edit]

I would like to request that you use a more formal (I would personally say encyclopedic) tone of writing in the various amusement ride articles you have contributed to. A lot of the articles you have added to sppear to external readers more as "Dinofunsaur's Impressions of Ride X" as opposed to "Wikipedia's Fact-based Article for Ride X".

As one of the more extreme examples I have come across, I'll use Afterburner (ride) as an example. This article uses personal pronouns ("I have...", "You can..."), and reads to me like a one-sided chat about the ride. I'd suggest having a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles.

I don't mean this to diss your contributions, the information is in most cases excellent. We just need to wrap it up in a neat little package. -- saberwyn 07:44, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
