Cantaloupe color

[edit]

Please don't "talk" in articles. Use the talk page to make requests: talk:List of colors: A-F or talk:List of colors: G-M. See help:talk pages and wp:talk page guidelines.

You could google for cantaloupe-color. Here's one: http://rgb.to/keyword/5660/1/cantaloupe-orange which lists two different colors. There doesn't seem to be much of a standard for that color.

If you add a color to the list of colors, it needs to have a source or link to an article with that specific color that is sourced. For instance, Shades of orange#Cantaloupe] is not acceptable as there is no "Cantaloupe" heading in orange. However, there is a Shades of orange#Melon which, per that entry, is the color of cantaloupe. "Melon" is listed under List of colors: G-M.

Entries in lists of colors need to be commonly used. Otherwise, the list will fill up with everyone's favorites that nobody will use or even ever heard about. I went through and deleted a number of companies', colleges', and universities' colors. Average of three colors times about 5000 colleges on the planet would be overwhelming. Their colors can go on their respective articles.

Wikipedia has a policy of wp:verifiability. To make information verifiable, any significant content needs to wp:cite a wp:reliable source. See wp:referencing for beginners and help:footnotes. Hope I have been a help here. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 03:39, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of colors articles

[edit]

I'm concerned about your edits to the list of colors articles. I just reverted a major addition to List of colors: A–F. That's problematic because you are restoring a number of colors I've removed. Not that I'm the owner by any stretch of the imagination but I followed protocol. I explained that I was going to remove colors that didn't meet certain reasonable criteria. I posted the criteria on the article talk page and had input from other interested editors none of whom disagreed. In the case of individual colors I unidentified is not meeting the criteria, I posted the name of the color and left it up for roughly a week sometimes more before removing.

If you think any of these ought to be restored, please open a discussion on the article talk page.

After seeing that recent edit, I I decided to look at other edits you have made and everyone I've looked at so far is an appropriate. Let's talk, if you don't understand how Wikipedia works.--S Philbrick(Talk) 00:50, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
