This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Robert Hunter at Johnathan Swifts in Cambridge, Massachusetts.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Thank you. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. License tagging for Image:Grateful Dead at Red Rocks Amphitheater with deadheads waiting to start taken 8-11-1987.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Grateful Dead at Red Rocks Amphitheater with deadheads waiting to start taken 8-11-1987.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Dude. I've linked two of your images into the Wikipedia, but you need to pick a copyright license. If you are giving them to the public for any use, they should be licensed GFDL. You can do this by adding this to the image description:

{{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}}

If you don't, then it dosn't qualify for Wikipedia's free content policy and will be deleted! Please help.--Knulclunk 01:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. —O () 00:36, 29 September 2007 (GMT)

There is no longer a Band/Group known as the Grateful Dead and nowhere in the Wikipedia:Username policy|username policy that states

that I cannot use it since the band no longer exists only it's fans who I try to reach , from a deadhead and to other deadheads. my argument anyways —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.38.112 salmo 12:48, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

However, copyright law states that a band name that is already used may not be used again for any purpose, unless the members of the original band allowed it. —O () 03:37, 01 October 2007 (GMT)

then can I get help changing my username? I'd like to keep all the pics togethersalmo 11:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC) kindly please salmo 12:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC) but it seems the discussion is still ongoing at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Blocks_%26_protections#Block_of_user:Grateful_Dead_for_inappropriate_username[reply]

so I'd just like to say I am not in or affiliated with any band at all or will ever be salmo 14:43, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, because distributors of the work will not care about looking at your page and seeing that you are a deadhead. Add the fact that the Grateful Dead is well-known internationally, and it's a double whammy. I suggest you go to WP:CHU and change your username before confusions even start to arise. —O () 22:33, 01 October 2007 (GMT)

I just tried to change it with some confusion as to whether I did it correctly so may need your help, please. salmo 00:49, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure its correct the second time the 1st time two words with only one cap letter the second had caps for both names, teedy intricate stuff the terminology and I did finally realize after your second attempt that userpage and username are different salmo 05:49, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
