The article Anders Olsson (motocross driver) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Bgwhite (talk) 05:14, 5 September 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Swedish Karting Championship
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Swedish Karting Championship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Dick Olsson has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not notable enough. And FWIW the page seems to have been created by Dick himself, *without* stating a COI.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 90.232.92.75 (talk) 01:35, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
Conflict of interest editing
[edit]Hello, Dickolsson. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Dick Olsson, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:46, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
- Please don't remove a COI template added to an article when you are the editor who has the COI. Moreover, please try to avoid directly editing the article (as well as the one about your dad and instead seek assistance from others by requesting edits on the corresponding article user talk pages. Finally, please don't mark your edits at WP:MINOR, except when as explained in WP:MINOR#What to mark as minor changes; in fact, you probably shouldn't mark any edits you make to either article as minor due to your COI; moreover, make sure always leave an edit summary not only explaining your edit, but also making it clear you have a COI, if there's a case where directly editing the article is likely to be considered OK. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:19, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
Did take this photo? If you didn't, then it's not really your "own work" and you shouldn't claim it as such. Generally, it's the photographer who takes a photo, not the subject of the photo, who is considered to be the copyirght holder. Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia are technically two separate projects with their own policies and guidelines; so, if you're not the photogrpaher who took this photo and they didn't officially transfer their copyright ownership over the photo to you, then you can really release it under a free license without their permission. Please see c:Commons:OTRS for more information on what you should do here. Same goes for any other photos you might have uploaded to Commons as your "own work", but which you didn't take yourself. Please note that even if the copyright holder personally gives you permission (verbally or written) to upload the photos that's not the same as them giving anyone anywhere in the world permission to use the photo for any purpose as explained in WP:CONSENT and is not going to be sufficient for Commons to keep the photo. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:56, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
