Vitol website
[edit]Disclaimer: As representatives of Vitol, we have reversed the changes made to this article on 10 April 2015, without adding any additional or new content ourselves. We have done so because this latest revision falls significantly short of Wikipedia’s editorial standards and contains a high number of factually untrue allegations and inaccuracies, such as:
- The entry refers to the “No campaign”. Presumably this should refer to “Better Together”, the official name of the organisation. - Mr Taylor was not the subject of “intense criticism”. Although inaccurate, allegations about Vitol’s past were made. The publications subsequently added content to reflect initial omissions of the facts. - “Threatening” with court action cannot lead to “dropping” court action. - “The National Collective” did not “uncover” anything that was not already in the public domain and which is also, in its accurate form, referred to in the existing Controversy section of this page. - Vitol is not “Mr Taylor’s company”. He is President and CEO of the Vitol Group of Companies, but there are no majority shareholders. - This is not an accurate representation of The Independent’s article. - The same article also contains the following clarification: “Vitol (…) has an open and transparent relationship with the tax authorities in all the jurisdictions in which it operates. These authorities are fully aware of how the business operates. Vitol pays the correct level of tax in accordance with the appropriate legislation in each of these jurisdictions.”
