Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Science fiction does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Follow-up comment: I reported a false positive to ClueBot NG. This edit did not appear to be vandalism, although the grammar and wording were so poor that it deserved a revert, so I did not restore it. Mathglot (talk) 21:02, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your weekly edits

[edit]

It seems a lot of your edits are being reverted because you are not adding proper references. You also have to carefully read the article to ensure you are not duplicating existing references, and that your edits are on topic and in good English grammar. Please be more careful with your edits! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:43, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

May 2018

[edit]

Hello, I just saw that you added information to Yoo Jin-seo's article about her marriage. In your edit, you stated they “held a private wedding last year”. I’ve changed your wording from “last year” to “in 2017”, and in future please state the year rather than using “last year” as readers aren’t likely to read the source or look into the article history to see when this information was written, and therefore could be reading the article in 2020 and then last year would be 2019 and not 2017. I only knew myself because I checked the source. Thanks, Alexanderlee (talk) 02:26, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image usage in articles

[edit]

Hello Dhksml1, thank you for your efforts to add more images to Wikipedia articles. However, images should usually be placed in some context with nearby text to increase readers' understanding. Merely decorative images without context and additional relevant visual information should be avoided. Also, if a similar image is already placed somewhere else in the article, we usually don't add a second image with duplicate visual information in other sections. If you like to read more detailed descriptions about these aspects, please see WP:MOSIMAGES (for images) and WP:CAPTION (for image captions). I hope these tips are helpful, but please feel free to ask if you have any further questions - I'd be glad to help. WP:Teahouse is also a good forum if you have any other Wikipedia-related question or need advice about any problems. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 15:01, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
