Regarding Caste
नमस्कार! I got a notice on my talk page from Abecedare against my inclusion of castes into BLP, saying that it was defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. He urged me to refer to WP:CASTEID which I got around to read through today. From what I can see, You were among the few who were in support of inclusion if it was from a reliable source. First of all, I just want to thank you for discussing on that poll with such perseverance and bravery, even after being shut down by various other users. I share your opinion too, but it appears that the Western editors do not agree with equalyl experienced editors like you and apply their logic to Indian articles too and simply say caste is irrelevant. An example is Anand Abhyankar, where it is well known that Abhyankar is an assal Chitpavan Brahmin surname without any exclusions. However, it is not included in the article. My point being here that, what do you think the future lies in doing? Should I move on from this? धन्यवाद |

- Hello @ChaitanyaJo: Well.... the gap between Indian and western editors will always be present in this or many other aspects. There is no way to remove it completely. But one can try to reduce it; although you should pick your battles wisely. Now coming to your specific point of Abhyankar's article, i agree with the CASTEID that the caste must be "self identified" by the subject. Example, Abhyankar may have given some interview about which caste he belongs to, or how his upbringing in that family was, or how he attends events in public held for the people of that caste.
What i understand currently is that you are deducting that Anand is Chitpavan Brahmin just from the basis of his surname. In such case; it would be wrong to write in his article about the caste. However, if supported by RSes, you can mention the common surnames of Chitpavan Brahmins on the article of Chitpavan Brahmins and/or the article of Abhyankar. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:39, 26 May 2023 (UTC)- I understand. Thank you. ChaitanyaJo (talk) 12:21, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

Indic Script consensus
Please kindly read my discussion under User_talk:Javierfv1212#Replacing_Devanagari_with_Brahmi and User_talk:Symphing12#Aṣṭādhyāyī and maybe let's begin anew a talk about consesus on using Indic Scripts, because I think those contained in Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics/Archive_48#Native_languages_in_lead (re:lead)] and Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics/Archive_64#Multiple_Indicscript_in_infoboxes_are_out_of_control (re:infobox) are dated. noychoH (talk) 21:45, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
