User talk:Dfroberg
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Dfroberg, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Al-Masdar News, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Iryna Harpy (talk) 02:08, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Specific issue
[edit]Please don't add WP:PROMO material as you did here. Thanks. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 02:10, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help Iryna, being neutral is darn hard :) Dfroberg (talk) 09:53, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- Indeed, it is! Unfortunately, I'm going to be flat out IRL for the next couple of weeks, so I possibly won't be able to stay on top of WP:NPOV development of the article. In as much as is possible, I'll respond to your content queries on article talk pages for the sake of transparency. Bear in mind that I cannot write on you behalf as that would be COI by proxy.
- As a heads up, having created this account, it's possibly only a matter of time before lurkers and trolls get wind of it. The nature of the project is that 'anyone can edit', and the nature of a-M is that you deal in extremely sensitive subject areas, therefore vandalism of your user page is not out of the question. Please see WP:UP#PROTECT should you need to ask for page protection. As regards your own talk page, see WP:REMOVED. Note, also, that Wikipedia has a zero tolerance policy for WP:THREATs and WP:PERSONAL attacks, so please do report such activities should you be targeted in any way.
- Apologies if this comes across as if I'm trying to put you off editing (and for being long winded). It is most certainly not my intention. If you have any other queries or concerns, please feel free to either leave a missive on my own talk page or ping me, and I'll respond as soon as I'm able. Cheers! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 21:12, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Iryna Harpy: I appreciate the advice & guidance, I'm new at this! Dfroberg (talk) 02:01, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:AMN Frontpage.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AMN Frontpage.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (t) Josve05a (c) 11:56, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:AMN Frontpage.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:AMN Frontpage.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:45, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
I don't have multiple accounts and never will have, I'd love to see any evidence put forth stating the contrary, as I believe this is simply an attempt to stiffle attempts in building the Al-Masdar News article in a constructive way. I.e. when arguments run out or fall under WP:JUSTDONTLIKEIT or WP:POV slap opposing party with a sock puppet claim and strike all his comments. Pretty damn transparent! Dfroberg (talk) 10:19, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Apart from the strong behavioral evidence, the block is based on a CheckUser investigation that includes technical evidence. Favonian (talk) 15:40, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
@Favonian: What does "strong behavioral evidence" mean?! And technical evidence is quite impossible as I'm quite alone here, heck I even adjusted one comment where I forgot to login and commented in a discussion on a-M talk. Who am I suppoed to puppet be puppeted by?! Oddest thing though; don't seem to be a SPI opened against me, so how does that work? Dfroberg (talk) 16:54, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Favonian didn't say there was a sock puppet investigation. He carefully said there was a checkuser investigation. That was done by me. Just so it's clear to other administrators, the account you are accused of operating is TheDaneChris (talk · contribs · count). There are other accounts I blocked during my investigation. Those accounts are unrelated to you.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:19, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Favonian: & @Bbb23: TheDaneChris is not my account. I've had no discussions with anyone with that username about wikipedia in any way shape or form! So what did your checkuser investigation unveil that linked me to him?! And what in heavens name does "strong behavioral evidence" even mean? That we debate the same WP articles? That we strike the letter A on our keyboards in the same manner!? We are in the same timezone/continent? Please elaborate. Dfroberg (talk) 17:57, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
