[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Kelly Shore has been reverted.
Your edit here to Kelly Shore was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.twitter.com/mrskellypierce) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. - Please don't start another article about the same person. If Kelly Shore has changed her professional name to Kelly Pierce, then the Shore article needs to be updated. We don't put together two articles about the same person. Dismas|(talk) 04:46, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Re: Why is Kelly shore up for deletion?
[edit]Whether it's true or not is not directly at issue. It's true that I've worked on various films but I am not notable enough for an article. That notability is what the person who put the article up for deletion is questioning. In order to have an article at Wikipedia, a person must be notable according to WP:BIO or any of the other notability guidelines such as WP:PORNBIO, WP:GNG, or WP:ANYBIO to name just a few. Just so you know, you are free to post your thoughts as well. For a keep vote to hold much weight though, it should state why an article should be kept according to our policies and not just "She's notable because I say she is! And she's awesome too!". Such, for lack of a better word, fanboy responses look like just that... fanboy responses.
As it stands, I don't think that it will get deleted. Morbidthoughts brought up a few links to more mainstream online publications that should suffice for the article to be kept. I haven't had a chance to really look at them though, or the references already in the article, since I do most of my editing from work and can't be going to porn sites while here. It's for that reason that I posted to the talk page of the Pornography WikiProject for someone to maybe go through and tidy up the article.
The article could use some work. For instance, 58 references for such a short article is nearly unheard of. And having such a laundry list of external links is not desired either. Check WP:EL to see if maybe some could be culled.
If you have any further questions about how to improve things, don't hesitate to ask. Dismas|(talk) 03:45, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
I understand but let me explain on the Awards
[edit]Kelly, was/is a role model for the trans community before she got into the industry. She went to highschool as a female, fought for transgenders rights in Illinois to be treated better. She later moved to Florida and became the first transsexual Secretary of a PRIDE board.
AWARDS:
The reason Kelly has not won porn awards is due to the fact she turned down so many nominations. She didn't want to be affliated with the awards due to how AVN & Xbiz treated the transsexual side of the industry. She spoke out against both award shows for years, and recently helped start a campaign for transsexuals to be treated better. They won and AVN relented as well as Xbiz. She was interviewed by Salon.com about it. She has turned down several nominations from AVN out of principle. Due to trans weren't allowed up on stage to accept their award, weren't treated the same as the male and female pornstars when they won. So I repeat she didn't want part in it. She stated her fight here...http://www.kellypierceblog.com/post/16412503063/avns-inequality-segregation-needs-to-stop
Kelly, has recently been invited to attend a reception thrown by the president for LGBT month. She is seen as an activist still and still fights for her community. The invite she posted tonight http://www.mobypicture.com/user/MrsKellyPierce/view/12848977
She also has a toyline coming out with Topco Sales which isn't given to no name talents in the industry. You have to have a huge fan base and relevancy.
So this is why I'm shocked she'd be considered for deletion.
She is probably the only trans pornstar that is married and doesn't escort.Lives a good life and fights for her community.
I researched and saw other ts stars with wikipedias who haven't done as much as Kelly with no issues..
I thought you'd want as many reference and articles as possible. I was just adding any verification or links I found on her
Here is another one where she is verified tranny star http://www.trannystartweet.com/Kelly_Shore
And by the way I'm a female...Abbey is my name...I am one of her fan girls..
She gives advice, support, and tutorials through her blog and radio show to our community (transsexual)
She is just a great person, so yes I'm willing to work hard on her wikipedia...just let me know how I can clean it up.
I think she should be easily googled so she can be learned about she is an inspiration to many of us.
To transition so young and be married.
I know whoever before made her wikipedia really mucked it up. I tried fixing it, but I guess there needs to be more fixing. (Desertrose1982 (talk) 04:17, 23 May 2012 (UTC))
- You sound really passionate about her so maybe you should have a read through WP:NPOV and WP:COI. Basically the first says that Wikipedia articles (they are articles after all and not as you put it "a wikipedia") should remain neutral. We should balance both the good and bad (if any) of a subject. This is an encyclopedia after all and not an advertising medium. The second link there, WP:COI, discusses those who might have a conflict of interest with the subject of an article. We all work on articles because we're interested in the subjects but if that relationship is too close or clouds our judgement about remaining neutral, we should step away.
- But getting to your points... Yes, other TS stars do have articles. See WP:Other stuff exists. With over 3 million articles, not every article is checked for its accuracy or notability every day or sometimes at all. If the subject of an article is obscure enough, nobody may realize that the article is even here for months if not years. So it may be that those other articles should be deleted. And maybe they should be kept. The reason Shore's article was noticed was that you drew attention to it when you tried to get another article started about the same person under a different name. I let that person know what you were up to and they seemed to think that the Shore article should be deleted. Like I said though, I think it will be kept and the AFD template will come down.
- As for Google. We don't care how many Google hits or Ghits a subject gets. That's not an accurate gauge of how notable a person is. What we do care about is verifiable and reliable sources.
- And finally, just because you think a person is brave, good, or honorable is again not a suitable reason for inclusion here. I hold my uncle and my brother in great esteem and yet that doesn't mean that they get articles here. Again, a clinical look must be taken at the subject of an article and they should be notable.
- Any questions, let me know. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 05:00, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- Two things. I don't know what's wrong with the word "people" and I'm confused about what point you're trying to make. Shore is a person, is she not?
- Second, awards aren't the only criteria. See WP:GNG or WP:ANYBIO. Dismas|(talk) 00:04, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
How do I add her picture and how do I get that stuff at the top deleted?
[edit]I am trying my hardest to figure out all the html stuff and writing the article correctly...been scouring over bits and pieces...just don't understand.. I guess..(Desertrose1982 (talk) 03:22, 29 May 2012 (UTC))
