Notice of request for deletion of editor DesertAngel :)
[edit]DesertAngel, the editor you are, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that you satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space. Your opinions on yourself are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at User:GlassCobra/Editor for deletion#DesertAngel and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit during the discussion but should not remove the nomination (unless you wish not to participate); such removal will not end the deletion discussion (actually it will). Thank you, and have a good sense of humor :).
HAPPY 1000!

Hi
[edit]Hi, sorry for vandalising, i know it sounds stupid but if i actually thought my vandal edit would not be soon reverted i wouldn't have done it because i don't want to harm this great project, but then thinking about it, by vandalising i am consuming the time of good editors of the project like yourself and thus also harming the project, so, to cut a long story short, i'm sorry, and having thought through my actions, i promise i won't do it again. P.S. sorry to read of your illness(?), it was a heart warming story tbh and i'm delighted that on the internet and WP you don't face the communication barriers that you must otherwise encounter in daily life. Sorry for being a pain, and keep up the good work! ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.168.8 (talk) 05:03, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's okay. How about you contribute to the project instead of vandalizing? We have a pretty fun time around here and you are welcome to be a part of it. :) DesertAngel 05:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Disambiguation pages
[edit]I'm glad I could be an inspiration :) I've actually finished the Q's now, as well as the P's (there weren't very many Q's, and I've started the R's.
This is the type of editing I like doing, as it's fast and results in few edit conflicts, 98% of my edits stick without being reverted (and the ones that get reverted, if I notice them, I explain the manual of style page to the reverter and they give in).
I suggest that, in your edit summaries, you might want to include a link to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), as this will decrease the number of people who revert your edits. Many people otherwise will have no idea why you removed so many of the lovely blue links from their favorite disambiguation page. --Xyzzyplugh (talk) 20:56, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Why dit you remove the link to the Drongen Baarle? Because it is a red link?
The avoiding of red links, together with the references and sources (what a fuss!) has become a real cancer on the English Wikipedia. I do not say this to you only but to this whole community. The English Wikipedia community seems to have forgotten that red links form the engine of a Wikipedia!
Greetings, Belgian man (talk) 20:39, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Drongen Baarle I left, the other one, the one under "see also" I didn't. According to the manual of style, redlinks do not belong on disambiguation pages if the only link is to the disambiguation page itself. DesertAngel 03:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I didn't know this rule. Belgian man (talk) 12:39, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of an article to which you contributed
[edit]Proposed deletion of Abaaba National Park
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Abaaba National Park, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Abby Hagyard
[edit]An editor has nominated Abby Hagyard, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abby Hagyard and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:46, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]Hi DesertAngel!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
