The Wikimedia LGBTQ+ User Group is holding online working days in May. As a member of WikiProject LGBT studies, editing on LGBTQ+ issues or if you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, come help us set goals, develop our organisation and structures, consider how to respond to issues faced by Queer editors, and plan for the next 12 months.

We will be meeting online for 3 half-days, 14–16 May at 1400–1730 UTC. While our working language is English, we are looking to accommodate users who would prefer to participate in other languages, including translation facilities.

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Reni Lane, which you proposed for deletion. The article already went through an AFD in 2008 making it ineligible for PROD. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Schützenpanzer (Talk) 01:35, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey - I did see the AFD for the article from 2008, however as far as I can see that was a successful AFD. It was deleted then, and a new article was written about Lane in 2010. It hasn't had an AFD or PROD since (that I can see)
I figured since it was a new article, it would be eligible for PROD again. Happy to AFD it if I'm wrong though DeputyBeagle (talk) 08:02, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You'd need to take it to AFD again, as the article was under the same name it makes it ineligible for PROD. Sorry for the late reply. Schützenpanzer (Talk) 23:50, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Objection to removed comment

I object to your removal of my links to discussions which affect the Wikipedia article "queer".

I propose a compromise where you/I/we re-add them, but close the discussion as people can continue it through the links. The talk page is better for giving notice that conversation is elsewhere. I agree - that talk page is not the place to fork the conversation or start it anew. Bluerasberry (talk) 15:05, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You were repeating a discussion that has been covered over and over. There's nothing left to discuss on it, we follow RS and that's how RS use it. WP talk pages aren't a forum for your feelings about the topic, no matter whether you dislike the use of the word in that context DeputyBeagle (talk) 15:30, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. I respect your consideration. Bluerasberry (talk) 15:57, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
