License tagging for Image:Halo Logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Halo Logo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Notability of The Halo Group
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Halo Group, by Flamgirlant (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Halo Group seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Halo Group, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate The Halo Group itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:38, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Halo Group
[edit]The Ref Tag
[edit]Ok, I'll assume you've read WP:Notable now - and just to let you know pretty much the only important thing you need to know is that in order to be notable - and article must at least have sources. Meaning every fact that you say in that article must be cited.
The following is some long reading - but it'll be crucial for saving the article
Here are the basics of citing sources.
Basics
[edit]To cite a source, type:<ref>[http://sourceurl.com]</ref> - which produces this (I'm linking to google since it's an example)[1]. Now at the bottom of the page, if there isn't one already there, type:
==References== <references/>
Which does this (notice the link to google where the references/ tag is:
References
[edit]More
[edit]You will probably be needing to use a source more than once, due to some time constraints, I'll just do a quick example and outcome - it's pretty basic, but if you have any questions just come to the talk page. Essentially this allows you to use one source more than once (since i marked google as a ref above, it'll also show up under the refernces tag ... sorry about that).
'''Code''' Fact goes here.<ref name="New York Times">[http://newyorktimes.com]</ref> Second fact that can be attributed dto the same source.<ref name="New York Times" /> ==References== <references/>
Result
Fact goes here.[1] Second fact that can be attributed to the same source (notice how the number is the same, whereas the google one above is a 1).[1]
References
[edit]Notice how despite you using the reference twice, by identifying the name, you can have it go to the same number (the a and b show the instance, if you click on them - notice how a goes to the first instance, and b to the second, on a long page, if you clicked on them, you would be brought up to the line where the instance is), but if you didn't do the <ref name="..."> - then it would have two different links under references. Hope this helps --danielfolsom 14:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Track
[edit]Definitley on the right track - although you still need a few more sources - and just to let you know periods should go before refs.Like This--danielfolsom 20:16, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ok - i just added {{fact}} templates - which show you exactly what citations are needed- there are a few - but hopefully it won't be too hard to find. I also changed the references a bit - but don't worry about that - if you add all the references needed I'll fix up their format a bit.--danielfolsom 20:27, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
