Hi DeluxNate - What a great idea! And what a clever idea it is to leverage the World Wide community, so that each of us takes a piece of this, so this task doesn't lie on a the shoulders of a few individuals. Per your request, I have adopted a word. Hope this helps! Hrannar (talk) 18:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Hrannar
- Hey, I'm sure somebody has thought of this, but shouldn't it be possible to make a bot that corrects common misspellings of certain words? I'm no expert on bots, but given what they already do with reverting vandalism, I would think this would be within the realm of possibility... (Morethan3words (talk) 03:47, 25 July 2008 (UTC))
- I've already tried requesting for someone to make a bot, but no one would. :( DeluxNate (talk) 12:33, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I just made a few minor edits (of to off, your to you're) on this page. I love the idea, since I don't quite have the confidence (as a new editor) to make more substantial edits right now. Quietmarc (talk) 22:40, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
This is admirable. I do correct typos as I see them, but I haven't sought them out much. Perhaps I will. Of course, the list is of the low-hanging fruit; even a bot could do it. It's harder to catch the misspellings that are also valid words. My pet peeve is the fact that so many people misspell the word led. Part of the problem is how heinous Wikipedia's search engine is. Would you care to expand the project to include the kind of thing only humans can do? Ntsimp (talk) 00:01, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
This is an admirable idea. Perhaps you would love to try out AWB. It could help you do this at a much wider scale. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 20:33, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
