Speedy deletion nomination of Steve Egboro

[edit]

Hello Delords,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Steve Egboro for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Vexations (talk) 16:22, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Delords: How did you find User:Steve Egboro/sandbox on 22 June that User:Steve Egboro had created? You moved it to Steve Egboro/sandbox where Natureium tagged it with WP:A7 and it was deleted as such. Sam Sailor 17:19, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ubong King, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

I have read your message on my talk page. Normally I answer messages on the pages where they have been posted, to prevent discussions from becoming fragmented and difficult to follow. In this case, however, I think it may be helpful if the comments I am going to make are in your talk page, for possible future reference, so I am copying your message here and answering it here. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:01, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings James, Thanks for the efforts to keep Wikipedia Safe, I created the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubong_King and although used some contents gotten from a Website but I have the Copyright permission to use it and the owner of the website is ready to provide any necessary copyright permission to use the contents from his website. I seek to request for a re-uploading of the page also if there is a need for me to edit the content in my own words I can still edit it to avoid a repeat of this. Thanks and hoping to read from you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delords (talkcontribs) 18:57, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you wish to use text from another web site and the website owner is willing to give you permission to do so, you can read how to provide proof of copyright permission in the page Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, which is linked in the message above. The page on requesting copyright permission, which is also linked above, may also be helpful to you. However, my personal advice to you is that any time you spend on following the procedures listed there is likely to be wasted, because the material will almost certainly be deleted again for the other reason given in the message above about the deletion nomination, namely that it is highly promotional. Also, please bear in mind that if a copyright owner gives permission for content to be posted to Wikipedia then he or she is licensing that content to be reused in accordance with Wikipedia's reuse terms, which essentially means that permission is given for anyone in the world to reuse the content, as it is or modified in any way whatever, for any purpose whatever, commercial or otherwise, subject to attribution to Wikipedia. Does the owner of the copyright know that allowing use on Wikipedia entails that, and if so is he really willing to do so?
Another important point is that if you have permission from the copyright owner to use the test then you must have some sort of personal connection to that person, in which case you should not be creating an article on that subject, as explained at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. If you are not already familiar with that guideline then you should have a look at it before doing any more editing on this subject. Speedy deletion nomination of Ubong King

[edit]

Hello Delords,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ubong King for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Your draft article, Draft:Ubong King

[edit]

Hello, Delords. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ubong King".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Masum Reza📞 21:20, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Olabisi Akanbi moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Olabisi Akanbi, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. • Hello, I have moved your article on Ifie sekibo back to Draftspace as I suspect you may have a financial vested interest in the creation of this article. I have evidence of confirmed undisclosed paid editors trying to move the article to mainspace. I expect you to use the WP:AFC process to submit the article moving forward. Information icon

Hello Delords. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Ifie sekibo, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Delords. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Delords|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Celestina007 (talk) 09:46, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Celestina007, thank you for bringing this to my notice, I only got interested in working on the page when while reading up on another bank MD and checked his Wikipedia page here Jim Ovia I noticed his page needed more references as he had only about 2 or 3, which I did work on and added more references which can be seen in the page history, this made me search pages of other bank CEOs and when I didn't see that of the subject Ifie Sekibo knowing he is much notable I decided to create a page for him, I have no relationship whatever with him or his organization to be paid for this. As for needing more citations from reliable, independent sources, he sure has enough citations from reliable, independent sources to be on Wikipedia, if I could go on to add more, there are many more available online. Concerning posting directly, it is well noted, I will work on it in the draft and submit for reviews and approval. Also if there are corrections needed to be done in the article please kindly do let me know so that I can work on it before submitting. Thank you for your time and dedication here. Delords (talk) 11:37, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Come on dude, you ought to know better than try to bullshit me. I mean take a look at your own talkpage. We both know this is UPE, for crying out loud the subject of your article has been scouting off wiki for someone to create a biographical article on him & somehow you just coincidentally had to be the editor to create the article, I mean what are the odds? As for his notability status, as of now he is not. Celestina007 (talk) 17:21, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
