Róža Domašcyna moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Róža Domašcyna, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - @John B123 in the Literature section there are already to reliable, independent sources which prove at least that she is a winner of the Jakub Ćišinski Prize and Anna Seghers Prize (1998). Is it not enough for showing meeting Wikipedia's notability guideline? The sources are not in English, but nowhere in the guidelines I see that sources should only be in English Delasse (talk) 11:32, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Delasse, as per WP:VERIFY the article needs inline citations. Whilst English sources are preferred, if there are none available then foreign language sources are perfectly acceptable. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 11:39, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- @John B123 Oh, do you mean that it was just a formality, you mean that the problem was that the citations were not inline, but in the bottom of the page! I did not know that, sorry, always thought that for small articles (stubs) inline form of citations is not mandatory. Corrected this, can you move the page back in mainspace? Delasse (talk) 11:58, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Delasse, no problem. Normally we expect more than one reference. I've added the second ref from the literature section as an inline ref and moved back to mainspace. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 12:09, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Israel Palestine articles
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

- Hello @Selfstudier, you undid my edit with a comment "Not an improvement and probably wrong as well". Can you elaborate a little bit more what do you think so? The Gaza Strip and the West Bank had been occupied by Egypt and Jordan, respectively, since the 1948 until 1967. Israel occupied the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in the Six-Day War of 1967 and has since maintained control. I think it should be mentioned in the first sentence of the lead that it was not Israel who first occupied the Palestinian territories, namely the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip. Delasse (talk) 16:07, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- You edited like so:
- 'The term "Palestinian territories" has been used for many years to describe the territories of the geographical region Palestine occupied by Egypt and Jordan since the 1948 until 1967 and Israel since 1967, namely the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip.'
- The main problem is that you have no source saying that those territories, when occupied by Egypt and by Jordan, were known as "Palestinian territories", I don't think they were actually known as that at that time but if you can find a source saying so I am willing to look at that (that's why I said "probably wrong").
- Then it is debatable at least whether Jordan occupied or annexed the territory it first took in 48, at least there were no UN resolutions against its annex, unlike the Israeli annex of territory. That apart, the strained phrasing of the edit suggests it is designed more to make a point than to inform. There are limited references to these other events in the article itself but I would consider undue (not that important, disproportionate emphasis) their inclusion in the lead even if you could find a suitable source per the above.
- I would mention that the term "Palestinian territories" as can be seen from the article body is anyway falling into disuse, the article is edited a lot less these days. I know its nice to be let off the leash after 500 edits but I would still guard against too hasty edits of Israel Palestine articles, particularly article leads. Hope that helps.

- Thanks, now I understand better. I saw in some sources that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip where called as the Palestinian territories in the context before 1967. But you are probably right that their inclusion in the lead is not that important. Delasse (talk) 17:02, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

Territories of the United States
[edit]I reverted your move of Territories of the United States. You can't just circumvent a merge proposal that was closed as no consensus by simply moving the article to include the merged content (plus another user contested the unilateral move).
If you would like the article moved, you may create a move discussion by following the instructions here. Thank you. SkyWarrior 17:35, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
