Test run
Hi! Take a look here: Commons:Bots/Requests/DougBot. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 19:01, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! I sort of got tied up on other things and planning the big jobs and neglected to do a test run. For anyone else who's looking the link is actually here.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 19:18, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
Stubs
Hi Doug. Per WP:STUB - "Per the manual of style, the stub template is placed at the end of the article, after the External links section, any navigation templates, and the category tags, so that the stub category will appear after all article content but before any interlanguage links." I find it bizarre this bot was allowed to run, with little or no testing, and staring moving stub tags when all it should have done was added a simple category. Doesn't sound like rocket science to me. Lugnuts (talk) 13:14, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- I DID try to contact the bot owner and the bot, but my posts went unanswered. I think you need to AGF that I did this (which you clearly didn't). Lugnuts (talk) 13:35, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- I found the comment "Oh the drama indeed" a bit rude. I guess that's OK if it comes from a highly trusted dev. 11 minutes is ample time for the bot to be stopped to investigate the issue (it was running during the inital talkpage post and the ANI being raised). He was fully aware of the problem, but continued to run the bot instead of stopping it. The fact that you seem to be blind to that is the biggest concern. Lugnuts (talk) 14:10, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Right you are
Thanks for the note. You are correct, and I've reverted. Appreciate the heads up. --Seduisant (talk) 15:38, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
