Rationale and objectives

[edit]

This is a skeleton page for developing a project on the internment camps in WWII France and the Jewish artists there. The articles (or stubs) generated will be written initiallly in English, then translated into Hebrew for the "quality offensive" on Holocaust topics currently underway in the Hebrew Wikipedia. A book that might interest you

[edit]

You might read (if you haven't already) The Undefeated by Abraham S. Hyman (Gefen Publishing, 1993, ISBN 965-229-087-4). Hyman was second in command in the Office of the Adviser on Jewish Affairs in the US Army after the war. He has some interesting stuff about artistic endeavor in the camps. You will especially find interesting the story of Yehudi Menuhin's visit to Landsberg. --Ravpapa (talk) 04:29, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
