- Please stop adding your own writings to this article. If you think there is a good reason to add it, discuss on the article's talk page and see if others agree before adding this link to a featured article. (I am talking about DDLJ in this case). BollyJeff | talk 15:34, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi!
Debarupa Bhattacharjee
I don't understand the signing guidelines. So, I could not do it. Please understand.
- Are you sure Koimoi passes the WP:RS criteria? Kailash29792 (talk) 15:37, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
The articles should be there for the following reasons:
[edit]Yes I am sure as my friend's article has been added quite sometime back. Read the articles please. In the DDLJ article, I have described, why in spite of 90s being an era of romance in Indian movies, DDLJ was special, for a lot of reasons. For example, it was a combination of reality and fantasy. Everyone wanted to be Raj and Simran. And both of them, in spite of being modern were traditional enough to try and obey their parents instead of just running away from the situation. The music by Jatin-Lalit, the dialogues,"bade bade deshon me aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai" are epic.
As far as Dil Chahta Hai is concerned, I remember the date when it was released in 2001. The first movie in Bollywood, which brought in Spikes, where the 'coolness' factor was visible in every frame, Farhan Akhtar's debut movie, outstanding music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, my eyes still get filled with tears when I see Aamir Khan's character hugging Akshaye Khanna's character in the climax scene. And the Goa moment, hum dost the, hai aur hamesha rahenge is just unforgettable. The movie portrayed Goa like never before.
I have been watching Bollywood since I was a three year old kid
[edit]Please keep both the articles. I can assure you people will get to see the movies in a new light after reading my articles. I drink, eat, sleep Bollywood. I remember each and every dialogue from both these movies. Please read the articles once and keep them. Please!
You already have Koimoi articles in further reading
[edit]Please put my DDLJ article back there
[edit]You have accepted my Dil Chahta Hai article. Please put the DDLJ one too.
Is there anything relevant in your article that we can add to DDLJ's Wiki article? Kailash29792 (talk) 16:19, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes my article is relevant
[edit]Yes, ofcourse, I discussed point-wise all the reasons which still make DDLJ the most loved romantic movie 20 years after its release. It is one of the first movies that brought in the “cool” factor in Bollywood. The way the lead characters spoke, the way they danced and the way they looked, everything was a little more “English”, perhaps because this was one of the first movies to be made on NRIs as such. However, what appealed to the NRI audience more was that in spite of being an NRI, the hero ‘Raj’ seems to be very much rooted in Indian values. This comes across best in the Hotel scene where he first pulls a prank on Simran by lying to her that they have had an one-night stand, but when Simran gets hysterical, he tells her the truth and says that “Main ek Hindustani hun aur Hindustani ladki ki izzat kya hoti hai main achchi tarah janta hun” (I am an Indian and I know what honour means for an Indian girl). Just like the hero, the movie is a unique combination of modernity and tradition where the girl is modern enough to wear Western clothes but traditional enough to be obedient towards her elders. This theme of the movie strikes a chord with Indians all over the world and they feel proud to be Indians.
DDLJ gives us a piece of fantasy that everyone wants to be a part of. A girl and a boy falling madly in love on a trip, in the beautiful locations of Europe and their love towering supreme against all odds in the end. Simple story it is but the super-talented Aditya Chopra (the director of the movie) presented the love story with various little intricacies and numerous heart-touching moments.
Raj’ is the quintessential lover boy and ‘Simran’ is the girl-next-door that every guy wants to take home. They are not perfect, they are not the most good-looking but they are the characters that every guy and girl can identify with. Every girl finds a bit of her in ‘Simran’ and every guy finds a bit of him in ‘Raj’. Every girl wants a bit of ‘Raj’ in her lover and every guy wants a bit of ‘Simran’ in his girl. They are ordinary, yet larger- than- life as well. They are real enough to make us relate to their problems and fantastical enough to make us wish to live a life like that.
“Bade Bade deshon me aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hai ” (Such small things keep happening in big countries)!
“Agar ye tujhe pyaar karti hai toh ye palatke dekhegi.. palat.. palat” (If she loves you, she will turn around and see you.. turn.. turn)
Who can forget these epic dialogues? The script is the soul of the movie and the dialogues are the way through which the soul finds expression and connects with the audience. DDLJ’s dialogues by Javed Siddiqui not only connected with the audience but stayed with them much longer.
Bollywood romances are incomplete without music. And in the case of DDLJ, the music is definitely one of its highlights. Every college or high school guy from the 90s must have sung at least once “tujhe dekha toh ye jaana sanam pyaar hota hai deewana sanam” (When I saw you sweet-heart, I realized love is madness sweet-heart) for his/her sweet-heart. Even today this song is like the anthem for romance.
- Seems useful. Bollyjeff, I think Koimoi does qualify for WP:RS, and Debarupa Banerjee's article seems to have a lot of useful information. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:10, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- Maybe they should read the Wikipedia article first. A lot of what they are saying is already in there. I am sure that there are hundreds of such articles on the web. Must we add them all? If there is specific researched information in this source that is missing in the article, we can add it as a reference. Point some out to me. BollyJeff | talk 17:14, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
THANK YOU
[edit]Yayyyy... Thank you so much... :) :) :)
But, a lot of them is written in such a complicated language that one can hardly understand. My article is simple, yet it has got the flow as well. If someone is preparing to write something on it, this would be very useful. Because, it goes deep into why it has set a bench-mark for romance in spite of 1000s of romantic movies being there. It is perfect for further reading. I am not asking you to give it in the reference section. It has information with reason in a simple language.

[edit]Thanks for the invitation to Tea-House. :)
It's different

More than scholars, the common people of India would search more about this movie
[edit]It has got something for them. Just like the movie, it will cater to both the classes as well as masses.
Not just about specific information
[edit]If it's just about specific information, no one would look for it in Wikipedia no? They could go to some other websites as well. Here, they want comprehensive information in one place in a simple, lucid language. Everyone from India is not a scholar in English.
Final Decision about DDLJ and Dil Chahta Hai???
[edit]?????????
It was damn good. You only selected I suppose.
you deleted the dil chahta hai one also? at least let that stay...
UNFAIR
[edit]You are just being mean! Our articles are good. That's why they were selected in Koimoi.
At least let the Dil Chahta Hai one stay!
